It was finally the day. You were sitting in sixth year Potions class with an anxious edge to your mood. Maybe they all forgot, you wondered.
Today of all days was your birthday and honestly it didn't seem like anyone else knew. Your sister knew, that was for certain but would she remember?
"Isn't it your birthday?" Harry asked from the set of desks in front of you and your unwilling desk neighbor, Draco.
"Thanks Harry. At least someone remembered," you said halfheartedly.
"Bloody hell, Hermione! Did anyone else see her get here?" Ron said as her turned to Hermione who sat beside him and Harry.
Hermione furrowed her brows. "What are you talking about, Ronald? She was here the Whole time."
"If you do not pay attention to my class and stop talking Mr Potter and Mr Weasley. I will remove points." Snape snapped from the front of the classroom.
Paying the professor no mind Ron turned to you. "Hey isn't it your birthday?" He asked in a loud whisper.
"Yes Ronald! We have have established that! Now pay attention!" Hermione whisper shouted at him.
"Quite the friends you have." Draco said with a scoff.
"At least I have friends, Malfoy," you retorted.
Draco was being extra moody lately, especially when Harry Potter was nearby. An old feud between them making friendship between the two of them impossible, they were like oil and water.
After class was over the Slytherin students had a free period before supper. You took this opportunity to go look for your sister, whom you eventually found in the library, nose in a book.
"Do you know what day it is?" You asked her.
"Tuesday?" She replied, not looking up from the weathered novel.
"It's my birthday!" You snapped.
"I know that," she hummed.
"You didn't get me anything? Not even a card?" You asked, frustrated.
"I organised a party?" She offered.
"Wait, you did?" You asked excitedly.
"Yep. In the Room of Requirement at six. You might as well be there." She said.
"I might show." She joked as she walked away to the Slytherin common room.
Later that night after supper, you went to get dressed for your party.
Once there, you realized many of your friends were invited. Including but limited to a decent chunk of Slytherins and Ron, Hermione, Harry, Draco and Luna.
At the sight of you Draco walked over and linked his arm with her's. "I'm being forced to be here," he said dully.
You sighed heavily. It was no surprise that he would be rude even on your birthday, it's part of his personality you had come to realize.
"Happy birthday by the way," he said. "Do you want to dance or something? I'm a stupendous dancer actually. I've had dozens of classes when I was a child, being a proper wizard and gentleman is a requirement of my lineage."
"Ha!" You answered. "Gentleman? That's a joke if I've ever heard on but if you're so certain your a good dancer you had might as well show me."
Draco smirked and led you to the group of students who swayed and jumped along to the music.
"Are you opening presents now or later, it's getting late a professor might show if we're all missing from our dorms."
Startled by this you stopped dancing. You had completely lost track of time.
"Of course, let's go now." You said as she walked over to the table piled high with gifts.
"What one do I open first?" You asked yourself aloud.
"How about mine? It's by far the fastest," Draco said.
"Really? Okay." You replied.
Leaning in towards you Draco put his hands on you hips gently. Confused you looked up to him with a puzzled look.
"Can I kiss you?" He asked in mock shyness.
"I have been waiting for you to ask that," you said sweetly. It must have been a joke, Draco would never—
With that Draco's lips connected with your. It was a passionate yet gentle kiss. He then pulled away as you both heard someone clearing their throat.
"Would you two mind not snogging in public?" Ron asked.
"Or not at all would be great too." Harry said with a huff.
"Harry Potter!" Hermione scolded.
With an awkward laugh everyone sat around he table to open gifts. After they were all opened you had cake (you ended up getting the biggest piece) which was shoved in her face courtesy of your friends.
Overall it was a great night.
