⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️It was the end of her Junior year. If she could manage to survive two more semester tests, she would be out of school for the summer. A bitter sweet feeling washed over her as she realized that she was practically a senior. An hour of Pre-AP English and an hour of Pre-AP Calculus stood between her and the summer she'd never forget.

Lauren was a seventeen year old girl, who grew up in one of those small towns country singers wrote songs about. She had long & wavy caramel brown hair, greenish-brown eyes, with an olive skin tone that complimented her features perfectly. Her semi-athletic build stood all of about 5'2".Her small town thrived on Friday night football. That's just how things were. They had other sports, but not many. Baseball, softball, basketball, and football was all there was to choose from. Of course, there was a cheerleading squad.
Lauren wasn't captain of the cheer squad until the beginning of her Junior year. She spent countless hours practicing and perfecting skills to earn this position. She had taken gymnastic classes downtown since she was two, so cheerleading was just something that came natural to her. Although she only participated in cheerleading at school, she secretly wished she had the ability to play softball and basketball like her best friend.
Lauren's best friend, Kelsie, was built just like her, except she was stronger, more athletic. Kelsie had even longer hair, so dark it was almost black. Her vivid blue eyes were one of her best features. She wasn't into makeup and girly things, like Lauren was.

Lauren was the book smart, not too preppy, girlie girl, while Kelsie was the sporty, tom boy.
Lauren's boyfriend, if that's what you'd call an extremely possessive and controlling male, Jake, was a year older than her. Graduation was coming up the following Friday, so he was already out of school.

Lauren and Kelsie's grade had always been super close. They all went skating and bowling and did things as groups for birthdays, etc.
Of course, this small town high school had its drama, but it would blow over & so-and-so would be best friends with so-and-so again before you knew it. Lauren and Kelsie both knew how this system worked, and chose to stay to themselves, remaining acquainted with their classmates, but loyal to each other.Back in their elementary & middle school days, "boyfriends" and "girlfriends" swapped like crazy since there wasn't a huge pool to pick from. Literally everybody dated everybody. Crazy, huh?
••••
Now that they were all older, and in Senior High, they had all pretty much stuck with one or two they dated, except for the players..
Bryce was a typical player that Lauren used to be head over heels for. He was a football player, tall & muscular, with wavy brown hair that flipped at the ends, leading your eyes to his beautiful green eyes. He was the definition of a jock, too worried about what others, especially his buddies, thought. They dated on and off up until their sophomore year. He just didn't take her as seriously as she wished and it hurt. However, in between their episodes, she dated other people. She had to play it off like it didn't bother her.
Chase wasn't too much of a player. He wasn't big on sports, either. He spent his time working & spending time with his older friends. Kelsie was currently dating him, & all seem to be going well for them. They were as happy as any couple who had been together for 2 years.
