Dear Readers,
I've always wanted to write about myself. Writing has been a passion; I've always enjoyed weaving characters together into a great story. Writing about myself, however, has never been quite so easy.
I have done the whole "private journal" thing for many years now, and a few years ago I started a blogspot account and started writing there. It amazed me when I suddenly had a few comments on some of my posts - most of them were closet rants about the injustices of my parents, my teachers, all of my crushes. Yet somehow, a few people found their way to my page and managed to connect; to relate to what I was writing.
You see, people don't just relate to the stories us authors create. They relate to us as people, and the experiences we all go through. If you can manage to share something about yourself and have someone connect with it, well I think that's one of the most beautiful things I've seen.
I want to share some of my experiences, both to tell my story and also to extend my hand out to all of you. I want to connect. I want to share the things that have happened over the years that have brought me to where I am today. Maybe, if I'm lucky, some of you will read this and you'll drop a comment or message me about how something I experienced was similar to something you've experienced, and we'll forge a new friendship. I respect all of you as readers and writers, and I hope you all respect me as well. Hopefully through this I will get some things off my chest and also make new friends. If nothing else, I want at least one reader out there to know they aren't alone; their experiences are our experiences, as well.Thank you all,
Chelsea.
