As days passed after Collies kidnapping everyone tried to get the word out. Her family and Friends were desperate to get her back home safe. Collies parents,  Morowa, Winnie, Reagan, and all the others went through intense questioning.

One morning Mrs. Karig was checking her mailbox, she found a typed up letter at the bottom of her mail. Deep in her heart she was hoping it was from Collies kidnappers. She quickly ran to her house got to the kitchen counter, and opened up the letter. She read the bold black letters. They read: We have your daughter. If you want her back you will do as we say. Drop off $15,000 cash under table number 5 at the smoothie shop at the end of the board walk. Be there on Friday by 1:30pm come ALONE. Leave it there, then go to the nearest telephone pole. There you will find the next note.

As she read the letter she trembled with fear, but she also had hope in her heart of finding her daughter. As soon as her husband arrived from work she gave him the news, not knowing whether it was good or bad news. Mr. Karig said he should be the one to go, Mrs. Karig did not argue, all she wanted was to find her daughter. Collies parents let Collies Friends, who were there when Collie was kidnapped know about the letter, just in case one showed up at their homes.

Collies parents tried to think of where they would find $15,000 on such short notice. They called up  their family to gather the money. Members of the family were glad to give the amount of money they could. They got the money together.

On Friday Mr. Karig went to the smoothie shop and dropped the money off as he was told. While walking to the nearest telephone pole he kept looking back to see if anyone was picking up the money. He found a new letter under the telephone. He urgently called his wife and informed her of the news. His heart raced. Would theese letters lead them to their daughter?????
