Aaron's POV
I scrolled through Instagram. A few likes here. A few likes there. Someone posting a picture of a salad. This is so boring.
I went on Twitter and read a few tweets from internet famous people. They were obviously dissing someone. I read some more, and people started arguing.
This is so dramatic.
I went on Snapchat. Long Snapchat stories, even longer Snapchat stories. People posting their problems.
This is so stupid.
I need an app that I like.
I went to my home screen and pressed on the app store. I searched up social media. Nothing seemed to interesting.
Then I saw an orange logo with a W on it. "Wattpad." I said softly. Why does it sound so familiar?
I clicked on it. Now I know why it sounds so familiar. I think I remember someone mentioning it on Instagram when I had a fan account.
Who the fan account was for, that doesn't matter.
Read and write fanfiction. I guess I'll give it a try. I pressed install.
I waited for it to install. Which took a really long time.
"Oh my god, it's taking five years to install."
"Hurry up." I said.
My mom peeked in my room. "Aaron who are you talking to?"
"No one."
She stared at me. Then she shrugged and walked away. I looked down at my phone. "Ugh." I put my phone down and stared at the ceiling.
I sighed and closed my eyes. "This app better be good." I mumbled. I wonder if I'll make an internet friend. I know that I'm not supposed to talk to strangers online. But it's always someone around my age.
In school, they would tell us to be careful because you don't know who you could be talking to.
But they didn't tell us that we would meet the best people ever. I've had a few internet friends. But they usually just abandon they're accounts without warning. Or they just block me.
I checked my phone a minute later. 'Wattpad fully installed'
"Finally." I opened up the app and made an account. "Time for a profile picture." I said.
I love taking a new profile pic. Even though it took me like 47 tries for a perfect selfie. Pretty hurts.
And there's a background picture too? Wow this app is cool already.
I just used a picture of flowers. Which I took. They were daisies.
My username was just Aaroncarpenter. I set my name as "Perfection"
I started working on my bio.
I like bands and shows more than people
I'd choose wifi over anything
I'm pretty good at being better than you (:
I tried to find some gay fanfictions. Because I'm gay as fuck.
I browsed and found a few good books. I added them to my library.
"I'll read these books later." I said.
I turned off my phone and shut my eyes. I quickly fell asleep.
Cameron's POV
"You're always on your phone." My mom told me. I ignored her. She kept trying to tell me that I should get off of my phone. And I just kept ignoring her. She gave up and walked away.
You can't rush fanfiction mom. When will you understand that? My mom doesn't even know what fanfiction is.
And I'm glad she doesn't. She would pour a gallon of holy water on me if she found out what I was writing.
I have a lot of readers and followers on wattpad. But I want a friend. So we can joke about each other's books and all that kind of stuff.
"I have no friends."
"What did you say?" My mom asked from the other room.
"Nothing."
I updated one of my stories. A few minutes later, I got notifications telling me that I got votes and comments on my new chapter. I looked at it, it's always the same people.
I turned of my phone and went downstairs to the kitchen. I made myself a bowl of cereal.
My mom walked down the stairs and stopped halfway. "Cameron are you eating cereal?" My mom asked
"I can have breakfast for dinner if i want too."
"Okay fine." She walked back upstairs.
I ate my cereal in silence. After I finished, I leaned back in my chair.
"I should get back to wattpad." I put my bowl in the sink and ran upstairs.
I jumped onto my bed and grabbed my phone. I worked on the next chapter for one of my other books.
"This is so much work." I said to myself.
After a few minutes of wattpad writing, I put my phone down. Then I went back on my phone a minute later.
I don't know what I would do without my phone.
Then I put my phone down again, and this time, I wasn't going to go back on it.
I pulled my blanket up to my chest and I slowly fell asleep.
