She was also heartbroken when she heard what Jhon, her brother in law, did to her beloved Saki.

Her sister's son.
She was there when he was born, like Claudia, her sister, was there when Tsu-kun was born.
He was like a son to her.
Which is why she would protect him as much as she would protect her Tsu-kun.
So when Jhon called her she lied and told him she didn't knew where Saki was.
She also knew that he didn't believed her and that it was a matter of time until he came to her doorstep.
She looked at her small family, who was not so small anymore.
She looked at her Tsu-kun's friends and felt pride.
She looked at Saki reading a random book he borrowed from the library.
She smiled.
Her family was strong and they would overcome Saki's past.
