He fell on his knees. He's surrounded by thousands of monster corpse. It stinked. But he could careless. His shaking hand tried to reach his bag, close by. The other hand clinging to his chest. His stable breath turned into short ones.

He reached his bag and stuffed his hand inside, searching for the damned potion he knew it must be inside. He muttered incohorent words, squeezing his chest tighter. Incohorent words turned into strings of 'please's. He began to call Gods, Lords, whoever that could hear him, whoever that could help him.

He released the clench on his chest, searching his bag frantically, throwing practically everything inside until there's nothing left. His hands trembled furiously. Nothing. He's left with nothing.

He looked to his right side and found a dark blue notebook, stained by blood from the monster corpse beside him. He stared at it for a long while before he picked it up, pain in his chest long forgotten.

He opened the first page of the book. The name of the owner was written there in a beautiful handwriting and black ink. 'Soraru' he read in a whisper.

"Soraru," he said again. And he said it again, until it turned into streams of 'Soraru's varying from small to loud voice. "Soraru-san," he muffled his scream into the book, tears streaming down his face.

He looked up, slowly laying down on the cold cave stones, holding the book close to him, staining the front page with his blood from his chest. Pain returned to his chest. He snuck a trembling hand in between the book and his chest, clenching his chest in a tight squeeze. He closed his eyes.

"That's him!" He opened his eyes at the familiar voice and the sudden brightness inside the dark cave. He got up from the floor to his knees. His eyes widen at the sight. Soraru and the others have returned to him.

He dropped the book and ran to Soraru, hugged him. "You're alright?" Soraru asked him. But his eyes were heavy and his chest hurts. When he closed his eyes and everything turned dark, the last thing he heard was Soraru calling his name.

He woke up to the brightness of the sun. He saw Soraru stood by the window. "I was so scared, I thought you won't come back," he said. "Well, there's no one other than you who could get lost in a cave and lost his map when chasing a cat, Mafumafu."

Mafumafu smiled. He's safe now.

"You know, I heard the cat made it's way back safely. I wonder why you didn't."
