It was 7 am, everything was silent until an alarm clock echoed.
"Irene! Shut your alarm clock, that's the fifth time! Someone's sleeping here, you know?"
Joy threw her pillow at Irene who was slowly waking up. She rubbed her eyes and stared at the clock. Realizing that she overslept, Irene hurried to the bathroom to get ready.
Hurrying down the stairs, Irene caught sight of her mother.
"Seems like you overslept." Dianne greeted her daughter. "Have some toast before you go."
Irene chugged on the glass of milk and took a piece of toast. "Sorry mom, gotta hurry. I'll be home late, bye!"
"Irene!" Dianne tried to call her out but Irene hurriedly slammed the door.
Irene Bae, 25 years old, a writer of Stellar Magazine, the country's best magazine. She took the first bus she saw and checked her bag to look for her phone but she can't find it.
"No. No. Please not now. Oh my gosh." As her phone is necessary to her work, Irene went down the bus and ran her way back home when a motorcycle stopped in front of her.
"Forgetting something?" Irene's eyes grew wide when the man removed his helmet, revealing her best friend, Evan, holding her phone.
"How'd you? Know what, never mind. Give me a ride." Evan automatically gave her a helmet and the two ride their way to Stellar Magazine's head office.
"I guess you forgot that I have a shoot today, I told you I'll pick you up." Evan was staring at the road.
"Yeah, I was writing a draft for my latest article until 2 am. I guess it's a good thing Joy doesn't have a class today, the pillow throwing woke me up." Irene was holding onto Evan. He looked at the side mirror and caught a glance of Irene which made him smile.
Upon arrival to the office, Irene ran towards the door and punched in. "How many times have you been late this month?"
"Five, six times? One more or I'll be suspended. I guess I owe you one." Irene replies as the two of them make their way to the elevator.
"So, what's your project today?" Irene looked at Evan.
"Clothing line, just the same usual stuff. I'm actually getting tired of modeling for clothes and stuff, I want to do something new but my mom insists for me to keep posing for clothing lines." He rubs his neck while speaking.
"Your mom?" Irene gave him a suspicious look.
"I told you, next time." and as if it was timed, Evan stepped out of the elevator and completely avoided Irene's incoming question.
------
"Can't stop me now!" Bobby was singing around the studio when Evan arrived, throwing his stuff on the table.
"Let's start." Bobby looked at him with a wide smile.
"Look who's here early, Mr. Evan Lee, model, the second son of Daniel Lee, the owner, CEO of--" Evan shoots him a sharp look.
"Just kidding. Why 'you so early? Shooting starts at 10." Evan settled on the swivel chair.
"Irene's late. Her mom called me using her phone, she's running late again." Evan checks his phone, Bobby, knowing what he is checking out, creeped behind him and saw Irene's social media account.
"It seems like Irene's excited for the party later." Evan stood up and kept his phone in his pocket.
"The whole company will be there later, lots of men will probably approach her." Bobby teasingly followed Evan.
