Walking down the tiled steps of my local mall, I swung the bag of clothes back and forth, looking for a certain store I'd like to visit next. Humming 'Northern Downpour' to myself, and taking out my phone to text my friend Moe- they hadn't been texting me much the past day or so, something about a road trip.
Me: How's the trip?
Moe: It's good, going to the mall
Me: I'm actually at one now, my mom said something about having to come here today??
Moe: Going to the Cafeteria, brb c:
Me: Alright-so am I, my mom just said we had to meet my grandma or someone there
------
I felt my eyebrows furrow as I turned the corner to the Cafeteria, fixing my hair and adjusting my shirt. "Hey mom, where's-.." I was leaning over past the people to look for my grandma, only to be interrupted by my eyes falling in someone all too familiar. I covered my immense smile, quickening my pace to them. I shouted their name, they turned around with a huge smile, and I could see the tears built up in their eyes as well. No one in the mall seemed existent, as I ran up to them. They smiled and buckled down for a moment before running towards me, jumping into a hug. "Ohmygod.." I mumbled, jolting forward to hold them tightly in my arms. Tears pricked at my eyes as the cold tile flooring seemed most comfortable to sit. I could feel their back heave and incoherent mumbles escaped them, and I couldn't help but hold their hands in my face and look into their brown eyes with my own watery blue ones.
