One Step Closer [currently rewriting]

4: Him..

Before all of us left Jack pulled me over to the side. "Hey..Madison?" Jack said nervously. "Yea Jack?" I said very confused. "I don't feel comfortable going to the mall with you guys" Jack said barely making eye contact.
"Then why didn't you say anything when we asked you?" I said lifting his chin up and tilting my head. "I don't know" Jack said with pouty face. I look at him knowing that he really didn't want to go, he says its "Too Girly".
I looked to him with smile "why don't you ask Bryana on a date!" I said jumping up and down being really loud. "Shh! you're being really loud" Jack said chucking a little bit.
"Please! I know you like her!" I said in disappointment. "Wait how do you know?" Jack said turning his head. "Its in your eyes!" I said getting pretty close to his face. We both laugh and Jack whispered in my ear that he will think about it.

~The Mall~

"We're here!!" Dani said jumping up and down running to the mall. "Dani! Wait up!" Sophia said running after her. Jack looked at me and winked that indicating the he was going to do something. "Hey..Bryana can I talk to you?" Jack said pulling her to the side. I just continue walking to find where the heck Dani and Sophia were. I finally found them, they were in the food court of course eating. I sat down waiting for them to come and sit down with me.
But I noticed the there was a man staring at me. He reminded me of someone but I could tell. He had red and black hair with brown eyes. He looked kinda of pale, I was thinking of going over there but was stopped by a hand on my shoulder. I turn around to see Bryana eager to tell me something. "Jack asked me out on a date!!" Bryana said shaking me back and forth.
"Really?..Wow?" I said kinda of jealous. Bryana looked so happy I couldn't help being but be happy for her. I hugged her and sat down to talk for a bit.

~Later~

"Ugh can we stop walking for two seconds" Sophia said almost on the ground. "Its just a few more steps away Sophia" I said dragging her to the mall doors.
We finally get there and Jack and Bryana are no where to be seen. I told Jack after the "date" to come and wait for us. I turn around to see Jack and Bryana holding hands. "Well I guess you guys had a good time" I said looking at their hands. They quickly pulled a part their hands.
"Hey love birds" Dani said nudging Bryana.
"Hey you guys go ahead to the car I want to look at something" I said. "Don't take long cause I think Bryana and Jack need a room" Dani said. I walked on and went into Hot Topic. I only went there for one reason. I know that mark sometimes sells his merch there and I want to see if there was anything. There was the bed pants that I helped design and the shirt that he made when we first got together.
I started tearing up at the fact that I'm not over him. I looked down and someone lifted my chin. "Hey.." I hear a familiar voice but I just couldn't put my finger on it. I lifted my head to see Matt. I was very surprised that he actually to talk to me. "What are you doing here?" I said looking straight at him. "I saw you walk in the store so I wanted to say hi". I was shocked at the fact he even wanted to talk to me. After what happened with Mark I stopped talking to him and Ryan. "Um..how's mark doing?" I said with a shaky voice. "I can barely look at him, he looks so weak and helpless" he said sounding very worried. "I wish I had the guts to talk to him, but its hard to forget what I saw" I said trying not to look at him. "I get it, I wouldn't want to see him either" he replied. I walked towards him and started to hug him. Me and Matt have always been best friends. Ever since Mark introduced me to him, we just clicked. Of course we never thought of dating because I never thought me and Mark would break up. I was just so glad to see him. "Hey, me and my friends are going to jacks place to hang out, you can go with us" I said with a smile. He look at me and looks at the ground. "I need to see Mark but if I have time, I'll stop by". We hug and parted ways.

Matt POV
I started walking towards my car. I started wondering 'why didn't I ask her to come with me?'. I knew that it was a stupid question but I wouldn't of hurt to ask. I know Madison and she doesn't take things easy. I'm surprised that she's been going places and hanging out with friends, maybe she is already over him?.
I finally get to Mark's houses and you can tell that he stopped caring for it. I walked in knowing that it was unlocked. "Mark? You here?" I yelled down the hallways. I heard a sigh coming from his bedroom. "Mark?" I said once more in case someone else was here. "In here Matt" Mark said yelling from his room.
I walked into his room to see him laying on his bed. It doesn't look like he's move from the place. His house looked disgusting, the trash needed to be taken out and the dishes were nearly falling out of the sink. "Have you even moved from that spot?" I said looking straight at him. He looked away as if he didn't want to answer.
"You have to get over this Mark, you can't stay like this forever" I said. Mark faintly said I know and rolled over. "I'm just trying to help" I said about to walk out of the room. "Wait!" Mark said nearly jumping out of his bed. "I know you're trying to help and I'm great full but all I want to do is to explain why, And see her again. I know I messed up and she probably could care unless about me right now but I don't want this to end on me not explaining myself." Mark's eye were tearing up as he was saying that. I believe that he didn't mean to hurt her but she unstable. Maybe Madison seeing Mark would push her over the edge. "I saw Madison a few minutes ago before I came here" I manage to get out. "Y..you saw her?" Mark said curiously wanted to know everything. "Yea..she was with a bunch of her friends and Jack" I said sitting beside Mark. "Did she look happy? Or well?" Mark replied quickly.
"I guess, she looked fine but I knew something was wrong" I said turning my head to look at Mark. "Maybe I should talk to her" Mark said looking at his phone. "If that's what you think then do it" I said shrugging.

Madison POV

I walked towards the car where everyone was. "You guys ready to leave?" I said getting closer to the car. "Yea I guess so" Jack said looking at everyone. I got into the car and started to drive back to my place.
Bryana and Jack wanted to go somewhere to be alone. I dropped bry and Jack off at jack's place. Then Sophia and Dani stay with me, and we all went to my house. We finally get there and I just kicked my shoes off and laid down on the couch. Dani walked over to me and handed me my phone. "What's this for?" I said confused. "Mark is calling you" Dani said pointing to the phone. I looked down at my phone to see Mark's number pop up on the screen. "Should I answer it?" I look up at Sophia and Dani. They both nodded yes, I answered the phone.
"Hi?" I said shaky, "Madison?" A familiar voice said.
