×- Amanda Houston's POV -×
** Ten Years Ago **
"Mommy! Can I go outside and explore?" Matthew comes running out of his bedroom dressed as an explorer. He hugs my leg.
"Sure, baby boy." I nod, and his pale blue eyes light up. He runs out side, the door slamming behind him. I see him run into the woods behind our house, and dissapears into the lush, vast greens and browns of the forest.
** An Hour Later **
"Matthew!" I shout at the trees. There is no indication that he is there... just silence and the aound of birds. "Matthew James Houston!"
There is no answer. He could be hurt. He could be in trouble. Someone could have-no.. stop.
Mark, my husband, opens the door and smiles at me. His expression faulters as he sees my worried face.
"What happened, honey?" He says, walking towards me.
"Matt went out to the woods, and hasnt come back... I'm afraid he's lost or hurt.."
He takes his phone out of his pocket quickly, as if on cue, and dials a number. He begins talking, stepping outside. When he comes back in his face is pale and he says, worried, "A search for Matthew has been arranged..."
I let out a sob of pure sorrow...
"My rosebud boy.. is gone.."
*These first few chapters will be short and in Matthew's parents' POV... I hope you enjoy...**
