..ata. Hinata?" I blinked and looked up, at Ralof.
"Yes?"
"...We're here. Welcome to Riverwood." he said after a few seconds, and I looked ahead to where he was pointing. It was a quaint little cluster of houses, although considering the size of Konoha I was most likely just used to a giant village - pretty much a town.
"It's beautiful." I said truthfully. It was a happy sight. Villagers were freely conversing with each other, any children were playing and running about after each other. I smiled at the thought of peace. Then the smile fell.
"Konoha isn't like this anymore." I said to myself. Not with the Akatsuki breathing down our necks and Sasuke bent on his stupid revenge. I sighed.
That was always something I had clashed with Sasuke about. Not publicly, of course. It was too much of a hassle to confront him and say what I really wanted to say; "Yes they're dead by his hand but did you even think of 'why'? He was your brother and everyone saw how much he loved his family so at least try to be a proper ninja and do some damn research."
I wish I said it at least once before he left. Maybe then he'd have actually heeded my words and not caused calamity within the village. I 'tsk'ed.
Asshole.
"This is my sister Gerdur." Ralof said, and I smiled politely to the woman in front of me, hoping it didn't show that I hadn't listened to a single thing Ralof had said on the way to this house. I felt a nudge on my knee and looked down to see a dog. I rubbed it's head and looked back up at Gerdur.
"Hello." she said, and I returned the greeting. I felt so awkward. Someone please say something.
"Do you have any supplies we could take along with us?" Ralof asked, seeing my hesitance to speak to a stranger. Bless him.
What? I may not be a very shy person to you, but I can't talk to new people.
"Of course. Stay as long as you like, but what is this all about? What are you two doing here?" she asked, showing us in the direction of the house, a clear 'come in'.
"A dragon attacked...um," I began, but forgot the name of the place. This world's naming skills were... odd.
"Helgen." Ralof supplied, not even bothering to look up as he petted the dog.
"-attacked Helgen and destroyed everything. Ralof and I escaped together." I explained, and her eyes went wide.
"H-Helgen?" I nodded.
"It cannot be...but it would explain what I saw earlier. Flying down the valley, from the South. I thought I must have been seeing things." she said, but I shook my head. It was true.
"I don't know why but I believe you. You've got the look of someone who's just seen a dragon." she said, and I 'oh'ed, then proceeded to not listen to what she was saying. It wasn't because I was uninterested or being rude, it was just that I felt an extremely angered presence somewhere South of the village. Usually I wouldn't be able to sense anger. Who even does that? But this person was angry to the point of Naruto-rage when Ichiraku closed before he got to it.
"-omeone must tell the Jarl of Whiterun. Will you do this for me, Hinata? Tell him what had happened." she said, and I nodded.
"Of course." I said, and she smiled at me in thanks. I 'hm'ed once she left, and Ralof gave me a questioning look. I shrugged.
"Feels like back at my village when the leader gave us missions. Except I don't have to be as respectful this time." I said. He didn't say anything in response, which I guessed was nice of him. I didn't even want to talk about Konoha, since all I really knew was my hateful family. But when I did tell him about it, I told him all the nice things.
