Their relationship was like that of any other; passionate, simple, and perfectly tangible. Yes, they had done a lot of that.
Itwas obvious that they had a sensual connection. Drawn to each other's bodies in large measures. Their bond was strong and admirable. One thing that Mailani loved about Gio was his kiss. Every time it was long and pleasurable, almost always ending in more. Their lifestyle together was happy, physically and mentally.Until it ended.
"What's wrong?" Gio asked, sensing Mailani's discomfort. "I... uhh..." Gio began to trace the beauty marks that ran down her long neck as a sign of affection. "It's Dadana..." She whispered. "I see the way you both look at each other. I know that you have done more with her than just hold her books."
"M-Mailani," he began, "I still love you." Gio sighed, as he brushed his regretful tears off his cheeks. As he went to sit down on her bed she pushed him away.. hard. "I can't believe you did this to me! What did I ever do to you to weaken our feelings... Our faith!" Mailani sobbed long and strong without and end.
This is it. Gio thought. He took a step forward, grabbed her shoulders and pressed them deep
Into her comforter. "Stay with me." She said softly. He kissed her on forehead and rolled over to lay on his back beside her. They turned opposite ways and sat in silence for a long while.
Gio sat up the next morning and put his arm around Mailani's chest under the sheets,
Not knowing she had been awake the entire night.Gio was startled when she pushed him away once more. He knew then that it was time to say goodbye. She would never be taking him back. Anyway, he had to leave for
University in the fall. And disappointing her at the last day of their relationship was not something that he could bear. Gio decided to leave a note. It read:Dear Mai,
I'm not going to see you anymore so this is our last word together. I want you to know that I did love you. I loved everything about you. Your smile, your eyes. Mailani; you were perfect. But so was Dadana. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions. I just wanted to let you know before anything else that I wouldn't have chosen you.
Sorry, ---- GMailani woke up the next morning and read Gios note. She had heard him scribbling away on her mahogany desktop. His words gently engraved into the wood. She took out the scissors from her desk drawer and started to scratch every letter out with the blade. Despite the loud noise, she was deaf to the sound of her own defeat. Dadana had to pay for the distress she had caused her. It was too much. If only there was one way to stop it.
