Breaking Apart

"Ava!!" My brother Joshua was jumping on my bed trying to wake me up. I open my eyes and glare at him until he stops. I sit up an he hugs me.

"Why are you hugging me?" I ask him.

He smells like cinnamon and sugar. Obviously he made me breakfast. I hug him back and then he laughs. He lets go of me and sits next to me putting the tray between us.

"Cina-bread with sugared butter and a vanilla cappuccino." He says and grins as I pick up the coffee. Today was the day I was leaving for sophomore year in college. I was attending Chicago University for a degree in psychology. I'm in a fraternity at the campus. And proud to be. My brothers didn't want me to leave because then they'd have to put up with mom themselves. I have 3 brothers. Joshua who is 16. Kaleb who is 12. And Cooper who is 6. I also have a little sister. Her name is Sophia and she is 1. Our dad left us when Kaleb was born. Joshua never really knew dad but me and da were closer then close. I was 7 when dad left. He use to take me to dance. He left to go frolic off with his 20 year old girlfriend. He was 32. He tries to call me now but I ignore him and focus in my studies. Joshua and I Lay in my bed and watch re-runs of that's so raven and eat my breakfast. When my mom gets home everyone is helping me pack. They all help me get my stuff to the car and load it in. I give them all hugs and kisses bye and tell them ill see them in 3 weeks which is when I have a 3 day weekend.

The drive to Chicago University is 3 hours long. Once I park outside the frat house I walk up and open the door. I walk in and instantly hear the 4 new freshman girls gossiping in the kitchen. I decided to head upstairs to my room and look around. I got the second biggest room. The biggest belongs to senior Joely Greer. I knock on her door and she opens it and lets me in to sit with her and the 3 juniors and 1 other sophomore. We were all in a circle on the floor talking about how prissy the freshman were going to be.
