My Life As A Teen Mermaid

1. My fishy tale

Hi, My name is Elizabeth Santiago. I'm a surfer. I also skateboard. Sounds like a normal teen girl right? Actually, I'm not. I'm practically half fish half human. I can't really tell anyone can I? If I did, I would end up in an aquarium or a science laboratory. Interested how I was a mermaid?

It was a fine bright sunny day. I was with my friends and we went to an island to have a camp there. My friend Raquel is quite rich so she hired a yacht. Anyways, it was in the middle of the night. I saw something glowing a bit farther away from our base camp. I went to see what it was. I saw a wall that opened and I stepped in and saw a symbol on it. ( it was glowing) I touched it and suddenly the floor I was stepping on turned to liquid and I fell into something. And the next thing I know I was at the shore. Unconscious. My friends saw me and asked me why I was near the shore. I simply answered I don't know. (You're probably wondering how I knew that I have a tail. Okay, here it goes. ) my friends and I went back to our houses. I went to my room and decided to have a shower. Suddenly, when my feet touched the water. Boom! There was a tail. I freaked out a little bit when I first saw it but I thought it was kind of cool to have a tail. But at the same time, I think it's dangerous at the same time. I could touch water but my feet can't. So I must be cautious when going out at the pool or at the beach. Unfortunately for me, I'm near the beach so there is 99% of chance that I could turn into a mermaid in public. But I felt a bit sad because I can't surf anymore.

The first day of school was one week away. I was thinking of what to avoid most. Of course you know it's water.
It's my second year in high school. I have a really big crush on this guy called Jace Smith. He's a jock. I know that there is a little bit of kindness deep inside of him. The only thing i don't like about him is he bullies my kind of people. I don't even know why i liked him. Maybe because he is charming and sporty. I have a guy best friend named Jack Harris. We were friends since we were elementary. But he still doesn't know that i have a tail. I'm afraid that he might be scared of me and tell my secret to everyone and everyone will call me a freak. Not that i care what other people say. It will just hurt a tiny bit.

First class was history, i got my pen and wrote down as much notes as i could cause it would really help me in the examination. I was writing when i got a bit distracted. I saw something that was so hypnotising i could't stop looking at it. I just don't know what. The class was over, i got out of the classroom and saw the principal, Ms. Gonzales. She was wearing a necklace that caught my eye. She saw me staring at it. ( it was the same symbol i saw before i turned into a mermaid.) then she left.

At lunch time, i saw Ms. Gonzales again. I have all these thoughts that maybe she was a mermaid too. Quite silly yeah? So to make sure she isn't, i kinda poured a little bit of water on her feet. I apologised immediately and she didn't freak out or anything so she's not like a freak like me.
