Deep in the Sea- Miraculous Ladybug AU

Third Person POV:

Ladybug groaned as her alarm blared in her gills. She sighed, as she had thought today wouldn't be different than any other day. Another day without her parents, whom King Gabriel of Mermaidia, had imprisoned for being an hour late on a bread order.

Anger flared up in her bluebell eyes. Grabbing a dagger she held in her home, an abandoned ship which had sunk to the bottom of the sea, she threw it directly at the picture of Gabriel she had hooked to the wooden wall.

How she got the picture? Well, that's a story for another day.

"You'll pay for this," she muttered under her breath. "You'll pay for imprisoning my parents. You'll pay from taking my life away from me."

"Are you muttering things again?" called a small voice.

She whipped around to find her small fish friend, Tikki. She was red with black spots, like Ladybug herself was. She had found Tikki trapped in another abandoned ship. Her fin was torn, and Ladybug had nursed her back to health.

They had bonded ever since.

Tikki sighed softly as the silence answered her question. Since her parents had been imprisoned, the poor spotted mermaid had sworn to have her revenge on King Gabriel.

Gabriel was a man who abused his powers. They say he was a good man back then, but when his wife disappeared, he grew colder and colder each night. He began taking his anger and despair out on the people of Mermaidia, from wrongly imprisoning them, raising taxes to an unbelievable percentage, and to making absurd rules. Gabriel was king as long as anyone could remember. Some would even say that he was an immortal, a descendant of the Mermaidic Six.

Approximately 700 years ago, there was a team of six mermaids who protected the seas from humans. Acacius had the power to heal almost any fatal wound. Leon was a powerful man who could breathe air, which came in handy when having to go on missions to get medical herbs. Fauna could make amazing medicine remedies for extremely ill people. And then there was Floriana, who had the scream of a siren which could fight off any of her enemies. She was one of the most feared out of the six. Meino had inhumane telescopic vision where he could zoom in on things up to three miles away.

But the most powerful of the six was Lady Azura, who was the only mermaid in all lakes and seas to bring out more than a single power. Not only was she able to fully heal any wound, somewhat like Acacius, but she also had unbelievable strength. They say she was able to summon delicate white angel wings and a legendary soulstone weapon when enraged.

Azura loved and cared about everyone. Many practically worshiped the ocean grounds she pondered.

Unfortunately, war broke out between Old Mermaidia and Gillsworth, another rival kingdom. Gillsworth was quite powerful, even more powerful than Mermaidia. Lady Azura, Acacius, Leon, Fauna, Floriana, and Meino fought valiantly in the battle, but it did not do them any good. Without the Mermaidic Six, Mermaidia would have fallen.

Gillsworth's king was a corrupted man with magics never seen before. Witchcraft, they said. Demon's powers. Still to this day, it wasn't known what he possessed.

To seal the evil King into another dimension in order to end the war, Azura gave up her life. She put all of her magics into a portal that would banish the king until the end of his days.

Azura had a son, as the King had a daughter. Their blood still runs in little to no mermaids, but they do not know about their history.

After Azura had gone, the other five were saddened, but they still moved on. They all had two children each, which was an odd tradition to have two kids in a family. Generations passed, and most of the kingdoms lived in harmony.
