(A/N just realized I made a mistake with their ages! I said that they were sixteen. I'm going to make it that they were both eighteen there and now they are 21. Sorry for the confusion!)
Two years later~
Akinli and I are inseparable. We spend every single day working on that house and it is finally almost done. It seems so lively and beautiful. I can't wait to see it fully finished.
One day Akinli calls me up at work and tells me to come to the house immediately. I get worried and get someone to cover the rest of my shift and then I race back to that old house, my bike going faster than I thought it could. I drop it in the front yard and run in quickly. "Akinli! Akinli! Where are you?? What's happened??" I run up the stairs then come to a halt when I see him just standing in the master bedroom.
"Oh, I'm sorry Kahlen... I didn't mean to worry you. I'm really really sorry. I just... I wanted to get your opinion on the room. I finished it..."
I'm about to yell at him for scaring me so bad, but then I look behind him into the room and it takes my breath away. Everything is in beach tones. The walls are a light ocean blue, the floors are a light tan wood. Everything is shimmery and magical. I've never seen anything like it. "Wow..." I breathe out.
"Do you like it? I picked out the bedding myself because I thought it would be something you would like..." He bites his lip.
"It's... It's beautiful." My eyes trail over the beautiful white bedding that has breathtaking, intricate patterns woven through it. "But wait. Why would you need to pick out bedding that I liked? It's your room... It should be for you..." I let my hand run over the bed gently.
"You're right... And it is for me, partly... But I want this to be for the both of us... I want it to be our room."
My breathing hitches. "You want me to live here? With... With you?"
He bites his lip. "Sort of... But not quite..." He reaches into his pocket then gets down on one knee. I cover my mouth quickly.
He pulls out a box and upon opening it I see the most beautiful ring I've ever laid eyes on. It is a classic cut diamond with a gold band and two little blue stones on either side that match his eyes.
"Kahlen... You've been the biggest mystery in my life, but also the only person who has made anything clear. When we first met, you didn't speak. I didn't care one bit... I was captured by your eyes... Your smile. I always knew what you were trying to say. And then... I realized there was more to you than I thought. When you disappeared.... I was so sick. I truly think that I was dying of a broken heart. And when you came back... Nobody could explain it. It was a miracle for both of us. We both got so much better, together. I still don't know why you left or what you weren't telling me. Heck, I don't even know why you came back or how you're talking now. But I intend to spend the rest of my life helping you remember what happened and making sure it never happens again. I don't want to lose you... I can't lose you, Kahlen. You're my life. My love. Will you be my wife?" He looks so nervous, his blue eyes alight with excitement and fear.
I don't know when I started crying, but tears are steadily running down my cheeks. "Yes, Akinli... Of course I will marry you." I throw my arms around him and cry happy tears into his shoulder. He lets out a disbelieving laugh before holding me tight. When I finally calm down a bit he pulls away to slide the ring on my finger. It fits perfectly.
One look at his face and I can tell that he has been silently crying too.
Without a second thought I kiss him, hard.
We soon end up on the bed, our kisses heating up and becoming more passionate than we have ever had.
Suddenly I need to be closer to him. A hunger I have never felt consumes me and I can't take this little bit of distance between our bodies. I grip the bottom of his shirt and start to pull it up quickly.
"In... A hurry... Much?" He mumbles through the kiss.
"Yes. Shirt off... Now." I mutter into it. He chuckles softly then pulls his shirt off with ease. His hands hesitantly go to my own shirt but he looks to me, as if to ask permission. In reply I start helping him unbutton it. As soon as it's off, the cool air reaches my bare skin and a new awareness comes to me and I become a bit shy. I cross my arms over my chest, embarrassed.
He pulls away a bit. "Don't be embarrassed. You're beautiful... So, so beautiful..." He leaves a trail of kisses down my collarbone, causing me to shiver a bit.
I bite my lip hard. Before I can second guess myself I kiss him hard again then unzip my skirt, letting him pull it down all the way.
"Are you sure...?" He whispers into the kiss.
"Positive," I say confidently. He nods and things get real steamy, real fast.
