Chap 21. Visiting

Rebecca's POV
Everything settled down after the baby shower a week ago. I feel horrible because I have been neglecting Eva. I got some flowers with balloons to adorn the hospital room. I brought a red quilt to add some color and some small pillows for the window. It was becoming harder to walk so I just waddling around the hospital room. I finished putting the yellow tulips into a vase when Doctor Reed walked in.
Dr.Reed: "Good morning Mrs.Michaels."
Rebecca: "Morning Dr.Reed is there any good news on Eva."
Dr.Reed: "Well her bones are all healed, bruises are gone and the swelling has gone down tremendously."
Rebecca: "So she is all good?"
Dr.Reed: "Yes but what worries me the most is that she isn't waking up."
Rebecca: "What happens if she doesn't wake up?"
Dr.Reed: "We will have to disconnect her and she'll be in a vegetable state. But I'll give her two more months."
Rebecca: "Is there any medicine or something that can wake her up."
Dr.Reed: "No, Eva has to wake up on her own."
Rebecca: "Thanks Dr.Reed."
After our conversation Dr.Reed left me alone with Eva. I silently cried because I had this dreade feeling that my first born child would die. I still have hope that she is going to wake and be the best sister for Cameron and Clara.
I brought a book that I was reeading and I just sat there reading out loud. After a while I got tired of reading so I started to brush Eva's hair which was all oily and long from not being treated or washed. I braided her hair and clipped her bangs to the side. With a small mosit towel I wiped her face making her look a bit fresh.
Half an hour later I decided that it was time to go home. Placing a kiss on Eva's forehead and whispered in her ear that mom and dad miss her and that she needs to wake up soon. With that I left the room and hospital praying for a miracle.
