Sensing different mysterious presences around him, Caim knew early on that there were people discreetly looking after him and closely watching his every move while silently lurking in the shadows of the forest. Though he was very much aware to all of these, he didn't make a huge deal out of it. Finding comfort on the idea of someone watching over him, he felt safe with these seemingly harmless auras surrounding him.
Until one day, on his seventh birthday, a drastic incident happened that scarred him for life.
The young Caim was picking up firewood in the dense forest of Mount Banahaw when an unknown and undeniably malevolent entity attacked him from behind. Raging with bloodlust and aiming for the kill, the said entity with razor-sharp claws and dark grayish silhouette had the evilest intention he had ever felt. He barely survived the attack but was lucky enough to be alive. He picked up the pace and ran for safety before his attacker had the chance to sink its claws on his flesh again.
That particular event pushed him into believing that there was something definitely strange about him and that there was something even stranger about his life.
On the twenty-ninth of November, Caim was turning eighteen. It was the age of maturity for him and the same day Nanay Lourdes, the young man's mother, was dreading for. She was afraid that on that very day her beloved son would be taken away from her by some people whom she feared the most.
For seventeen years, everything seemed normal for Caim. He was contended living his simple life in their little barrio with his mother, friends and the young woman whom he dearly loved named Santana.
