His name was Park Jin-young, my childhood friend, my first love. We knew each other as long as I could remember. From bathing together as kids to going to the first day of dance class together. Life seemed plain but it was in a good way.
Our town was small so everyone knew each other, and nothing ever seemed to go wrong, but I guess that wasn't enough for him. Jin-young wanted more. He didn't want to be just another kid in town. He wanted to pursue his dream of being a national idol, which I always made fun of. I never knew he would actually try to pursue that dream. I can clearly remember the day that he left. It was the last week of school, and Jin-young had been leaving early, ditching me to walk home alone even though we live on the same block. The worst thing was during that week, we didn't talk at all. If we had I would've known what he was planning. What I hate the most is that I hadn't noticed that he was actually avoiding me.
As the sun was about to set, the sky turned orange with pink clouds like cotton candy. It seemed calming, and felt like nothing was going to go wrong until Jin-young's parents came rushing to our house.
Their faces was filled with worry as they asked me if I've seen Jin-young. I felt my heart slowly shattering as I told them that I hadn't seen him. I knew something was up. Jin-young wasn't the type of person who would do something bad. He was sometimes arrogant but he wouldn't runaway... right?
