My first theory of knowledge is that that everything we know is made up.
Languages and facts didn't just suddenly appear, somebody made them up and proved them to be true.
E.g. 1+1=2
This is made up because it is based off the counting system which somebody made up.Q: Does this make the fact that 1+1=2 not a fact?
A: No.
Explanation: Let's start with the definition of a fact
fact
/fakt/
noun
a thing that is known or proved to be true.
"the most commonly known fact about hedgehogs is that they have fleas"
synonyms: reality, actuality, certainty, factuality, certitude1+1=2 is known to be true making it a fact. But it is only proven by the number system which we have already established is made up, so:
Q: Is it a proven fact?
A: No.
Explanation: To be a fact it must be true. To prove truth you must base a fact off of an unquestionable source.
unquestionable
/uhn-kwes-chuh-nuh-buh l/adjective
not open to question; beyond doubt or dispute
Synonyms: indisputable; undeniable; certain"an unquestionable fact."
Something being made up certainly doesn't make it unquestionable seeing as it is very doubtful.
I'm not very good at explaining things. Sorry for ruining your maths lessons more.
