The Day The Devil Fell In Love with The Angel
Chpt 1: New Town. New school. Life sucks.
"....Miss you wherever I go,I'm gonna come back to walk these stre-" I switched my phone off and dragged myself out of bed. Since my parents went to work before I woke up, they called me cause I had no patience with alarm clocks. I glanced down at my watch. 6:39 ugh. I stumbled to the kitchen and somehow managed to make myself breakfast without falling asleep. As you can tell I'm not a morning person but nothing wakes me up better than a
cup of hot chocolate. Now that I felt a bit more awake it dawned on me that I was going to a new school today and I didn't have any kind of idea were the school could be. Okay lemme explain. I used to live in Los Angeles but, when my parents decided they didn't like the city any more we moved to Chicago. So now I'm left with no idea how to get to school, where the school is and all my parents are doing is sitting behind a desk having an interview. So maybe I am being a little bit harsh but what kind of parent leaves their 13 year old daughter on her first day in a completely new town? Actually, don't answer that. I dragged myself into my mini walk in wardrobe to put some decent clothes on before I went to search for the stupid school. I ran my hand through my clothes trying to decide what to wear. In the end I decided on some light blue jeans, a white tee and a purple hoodie to go on top. Since it was still autumn I decided to go without a coat knowing I could pull it off - I mean it was 20 degrees ! After getting dressed I went to the bathroom to sort out my nightmare hair. Don't get me wrong, my hair could look pretty but to do that I needed the worlds best straighteners... Or a hairbrush. I chose the hairbrush. My hair was light brown ,almost ginger like, wavy and down about 5 inches past my shoulders. It wasn't that bad, I'll admit - at least before I slept on it and got an attack of bed hair. Thankfully, today it wasn't that bad so I decided to leave it down. I quickly glanced at my watch again- 7:20. Ten minutes before school stated and I still needed to find it... I ran in to my room, grabbed my bag, ran back out , pulled on my black converse and quickly checked my reflection in the mirror. I looked okay- my sky blue eyes looked tired, and my hoodie hid my figure (I wasn't fat but I wasn't mega skinny either) but I would do. I ran out the door, typing Tamara Middle school into google maps on my phone. When it finished loading I found out that it was actually 3 minutes walk from my house. Well at least I could sleep in longer in the morning. As I turned the corner I noticed a sign saying 'Tamara Middle School'. The building looked normal enough so I decided to go in since it was already 7:27. I made my way to the secretaries office, glad for once , for the map outside the school. When I got to a door labelled secretary I took a breath and knocked.
"Come in" said a voice and I opened the door and walked in.
"Hello I'm Roxanne Destin and I'm new here.." I trailed off as the secretary started speaking
" oh yes of course, here's your timetable and a map of the school" she said beaming at me.
"okay thank you " I said and made my way out of the office. I barely made it two steps before someone walked into me.
"oh uhhh sorry I didn't see you there" the girl stuttered and looked down.
"heyy it's okay, what's your name?"
"Emily, and your the new girl right?" she said, looking at the map in my hands.
" yeah. I'm Roxanne but call me Roxy" I said.
" Sure. What lessons do you have first?"
"ummm" I glanced at my timetable and groaned but then smiled. I had maths, English and physics first and after lunch I had art, P.E. and history V (history was voluntary which the V stands for). Well no way was I staying behind for that.
