In the morning I awoke, just to find an empty space beside me. I felt the space where he once lay, figuring he would have a hangover. The spot was rather warm, meaning he had just gotten up. I slumped out of bed and walked into the hallway on my way to the kitchen. On the floor lay a picture of me and my family at my high school graduation. I stepped over the broken glass fragments and continued my way to the kitchen. Rounding the corner to see his bright, beaming million dollar smile. As a real estate agent, Gabriel could sell you a boarded up shack with that smile of his. This same smile won me over when I purchased my first apartment only a year later to move in with my fiancee. Inside I knew the wrong he's done but I couldn't ever say. I flashed him my fakest smile as he kissed my lips, it felt bittersweet. After a few seconds of lingering on my lips he pulled away and returned to getting ready for work. I watched him with sore eyes as he moved about the small apartment. I made myself a cup of coffee, 4 creams 5 sugars, I figured I needed a kick to start the day. As I stirred my coffee, I heard his keys jingle in the other room feeling relief he was about to leave for work. He walked into the kitchen and snaked his masculine arms around my small figure. He pressed his lips against my neck and mumbled "I love you". His breath hot on my neck soon to be cold. He removed his arms and quickly left our apartment. I sipped my coffee walking over to the couch where our cat Gio lay, his plump orange body sprawled along the top cushions. I sat carefully on the couch, placing my coffee on the stand and fetching the TV remote. I looked at Gio only to see him looking back at me purring loudly. I smiled, 'Gio what should we watch?'. I paused for a moment as if Gio were able to verbally reply. Instead he just yawned and I took that as his answer and switched the channel to ABC to watch Grey's Anatomy reruns. Thank god for spring vacation! Since I'm a junior in college, I have been binge watching shows on Netflix. All afternoon I lay on the couch with Gio, tissues lay all around from the show. My phone vibrated on the coffee stand beside me, I pressed the pause button and picked up my IPhone. I had a message from my best friend Kimberly, she was in my anatomy class for college. Kimberly is your average girl who just so happens to be really good with men. She had texted me a picture of this guy named Omar whom she met in Spain. In the picture he placed a sweet kiss on her cheek as she smiled brightly. I sent her a quick ' you two are cute!' back knowing I'd never meet him. I opened instagram and scrolled through looking at pages with memes, singers and even just stalking randoms. I sighed heavily and locked my phone after a good hour and a half to realize I'd done absolutely nothing all day except for molding my body into the couch. I looked at the clock and it was half past noon, my stomach howled and I figured I'd go get some McDonalds. I walked into our bedroom and jumped in a pair of jeans, a loose white t-shirt and put my golden blonde locks into a messy bun. I looked at myself in the mirror and shrugged, I didn't look half bad, grabbing my wallet and car keys I headed for the door slipping on a pair of black flip flops. Once outside I took in a big breath of fresh air, I looked across the street to see our elderly neighbor Mr. Hanks watering his newly planted flowers. The flowers were a pretty shade of purple and yellow. Mr.Hanks must've caught me admiring the flowers because he smiled and waved to me. I smiled and waved back as I walked to my car, opening the door and climbing inside. The AC quickly kicked on and Shawn Mendes played through the speakers. I rolled my window down and backed out of my drive way.
About an hour later I pulled down my street, glancing over at Mr. Hanks' house, the flowers he planted looked astonishing. I glanced to my driveway noticing Gabriel is still yet to be home, relief washed over me.. After parking my car, I opened the door reaching for my soda. I slid out of my car shutting the door and used the keys to lock it. After locking it, my phone buzzed in my pocket, I reached my hand into my back pocket pulling it out. I hit the home button and had a text message from Gabriel saying he'd be home soon..
