Chapter 1

*beep beep beep*

The oh-so-annoying sound of the alarm clock buzzed in my ears, making me cringe. Yawning, I sit up, stretching my arm to turn it off. I squint my eyes and check the time. I get out of bed, stopping to stretch yet again, then making my way towards the bathroom.

Twisting the doorknob, my bare feet touch the cold tile, causing me to jump back in shock. I take a deep breath, relax once again, and step into the bathroom.

Oh, I nearly forgot to introduce myself, did I? I'm Lucy. Lucy Heartfilia. My father owns one of the richest companies in Japan, but he passed away a year ago. His fortune was meant to be all mine, but I no longer want to be 'Lucky Lucy' anymore. So, I passed on that opportunity and left the riches for my older brother, Luke Heartfilia. Luke is a...different kind of guy. A handsome model and one of the most sexy people in Japan, my brother is kind of an icon. My father always told me to use my looks as an advantage and become a model, like Luke.

But, my mother believed in me. She thought I wasn't fit to be a model, she knew it wasn't what I really wanted to do in life. So, she got me into writing and reading. I've always wanted to be an author, and I looked up to my mother to give me inspiration. She was my role model.....until she passed away, that is. I live in a small apartment in Magnolia, not too far from Fairy Tail High School. Luke is almost always busy, so he only comes home once a week. So, I mainly live by myself.

I step into the shower, turning the knob. I hiss as the cold water hits my body, but slowly ease up to it as it turns warm. I exhale a breath of relief, lathering my body with soap and letting the hot water seep through my blonde locks. The steam rises up into the air, the mirror starting to fog up. When I finally decided enough was enough, I turned the handle back to the left and stepped out.

I grabbed a towel and dried myself off, covering my body. I stare at my reflection, wet hair and all. I smile, then walk out of the room, flicking off the light switch, then closing the door.

I stand in front of my closet, pulling out my school uniform. Slipping it on, I put on my socks and shoes, tying my hair in a side ponytail. I grab my bag and car keys and head down the stairs, walking to my kitchen.

I prepare a small salad with some yogurt for breakfast, humming as I eat. Putting the now empty plate in the sink, and throwing away the yogurt cup, I walk out, locking the door before me.

I look out at the sky. It was a beautiful morning, the sun already out and the birds sitting on the treetops, singing their beautiful song. I open the car door, sliding in and closing it.

I put the key into ignition, hearing the engine start. Carefully backing out of the driveway, I make my way down the road to Fairy Tail High School.

Finally, I arrived! I grab my stuff. Then, I get out of the car, walking towards the sakura tree where Levy was waiting for me.

"Hey, Levy!" I wave, grabbing her attention. She smiles, walking over to me.

"Lu-chan! You're here!" The short bluenette exclaimed.

I giggle. "I'm here everyday, Levy, do you miss me that much?"

"Of course! You're my best friend, after all!"

I smile. We enter the building side by side, chatting about the littlest of things. Soon, we part ways to get to our lockers.

Putting in the combination, I open the lock, putting away my belongings and shutting it close. I start walking toward homeroom, my mind in a completely different place.

Next thing you know, I bump into someone. Who is that someone, you may ask?

...none other than Natsu Dragneel.

Known as one of the most popular boys in school, he is fawned over several fangirls, his official girlfriend being Lisanna Strauss. The last thing I want is a mob of angry fangirls running after me because I bumped into Natsu.

I quickly get up and dust off my skirt.

"I-I'm sorry, I'll be on my way now..." I apologize, starting to walk off quickly.

"Wait!" Natsu calls out to me, grabbing my hand. I freeze. "I have a question for you..."
