Scott

It would be objectively true to claim that I have had my fair share of enemies since my becoming a werewolf, but right now my greatest foe is undoubtedly traffic. It makes sense that with my luck it is taking us forever to try and get back home. This car ride is of course worsened by the fact that it seems to be incredibly awkward between Isaac and I for some reason. But my life has always been plagued by bad luck and it'd be nonsensical for that to change now. That is no matter how much I wish my luck would turn and Isaac would magically love me, but that is unfortunately not reality. Even the luckiness I had to meet Isaac in the first place was negated with me falling for him and him not returning that love due to him being straight.

"So..." Isaac prompted, repeating the word I said prior.

"So," I replied, with the thick feeling of being unsure between us.

"How are things back at Beacon Hills? I haven't spoken to anyone in a while." Isaac asked, seemingly trying to break this tension a little bit which I was immensely grateful for.

"Well everything is great and everyone is doing really well. We haven't had much trouble of the supernatural variety lately, which is always a good thing" I answered.

This by the way was a complete and utter lie. When Isaac left everything went to shit, everyone seemed to be falling hopelessly apart after Allison's death. Everyone with an extreme emphasis on me, that is. I didn't feel like telling him that though because even though I slightly resented the fact that he left, I don't want to make him feel guilty about it.

"Well that's good to hear," he said and I looked at him from the corner of my eye and caught him smiling.

"Not to be a burden, but can we stop somewhere to eat? I'm pretty hungry and they didn't really give us anything on the flight," he asked, and I couldn't agree more, after sitting in all this traffic I worked up quite the appetite.

"Yeah sure I'm pretty hungry too," I paused "and Isaac, you could never be a burden, so don't talk stupid." I got a smile from the boy next to me as a reward for my words, which was worth it completely.

We drove in silence for a few minutes before I saw a sign on the side of the road for a diner a couple miles away. Unfortunately though the closer we got towards the diner, the more run down and dirty it generally looked, until we pulled in the parking lot and I was kind of disgusted. Looking at Isaac though, he didn't seem to care about its appearance and just wanted something to eat as soon as possible. We were the only car in the lot, and we silently got out of the car and approached the building. I looked around and scanned the area around us- which is a habit I picked up since becoming an alpha- and I took in the grimey windows and the "Open" sign that had its light flickering. As soon as the door creaked behind me walking into the diner, I had a feeling that this wasn't going to be a pleasant dining experience.

The inside of the diner was by no means nicer than the outside, the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was consistently terrible. The tables and booths had rips up the upholstery and food residue on the tables, and the mint green walls of the diner were in dire need of a repaint as it was heavily chipping off. I won't even begin to describe the awful smell protruded from this place, it would simply be unfair.

Before I had the chance to suggest to Issac that we should probably find somewhere else to eat, he sat himself down at an empty booth (all the tables were empty), looked at me expectantly and eyed the menu set out on the table waiting for me to come over to him.

I sat myself down in the booth opposite him, and played with my hand a little bit while Isaac was looking over the single menu that was at our table. Isaac looked up at me and I could tell something clicked a little bit by the look in his eyes.

"Oh, sorry Scott, I'll come beside you so we can both read it, I didn't realize there was only one menu" he explained.

"Sure thanks," I spoke in response.

Before I knew it Isaac was squished in next to me on the bench which was clearly made to fit one person. My face started to flush when Isaac's leg began to press against mine, I have never wished to be invisible more than in this moment. This boy will be the death of me and he doesn't even realize it.
