Alice and her mother sat in dead silence as they silently prayed that you would be alive. Their tears being held back by the newly built dams but each doubting that they would last long if they ever saw the young boy. The doctor came through moments later, clipboard in hand and a pained expression on his face.
"Ms. Liddell?" his deep voice echoed in the silent room. Alice' mother's eyes trailed from the floor into the doctor's dark brown eyes, almost looking as if they were charcoal. She stood up and rushed to the doctor, stopping in front of him with a worried expression on her face.
"Yes? Please, tell me my baby boy is okay! Please tell me he's okay!" she pleaded, trying not to break down crying again but miserably failing as the tears fell from her eyes again. Alice quickly rushed to her side and embraced her in a hug.
The doctor didn't want to ruin the sweet moment for them, so he motioned for the two ladies to follow as he turned on his heel and walked down a wooden hall, leading into a series of room along the wall. All seemed to be a blur for the two blondes as they walked down the hall as well, their eyes only trained in front of them. They eventually stopped in front of a room that led to the injured male. The doctor stepped aside the door to let Alice and her mother in, which they reluctantly entered.
The two women nearly fainted at the sight of all the blood. Her mother unable to hold it in, finally cracked as she screamed in agony and cried more. Alice urged herself to walk towards the unconscious boy that lay in the white bed, blood spattered in the edge of it and the damp bandages that wrapped his head, covering nearly all of his (H/C) hair. Alice's hand timidly reached out to touch the boy, her skin grazing against his cheek. She sucked in a breath and retracted her hand quickly for a moment as if the figure in the bed were lava. She exhaled and reached her hand out against, placing it on his cheek and carrassing it gently, not to wake him. A sad smile spread across her features as the tears fell once more.
"He looks so peaceful when he's asleep like this..." Alice murmured to herself. Her mother finally regained her composure and stood alongside Alice, looking down at her only son with a pained face.
"He...does look rather peaceful..." the older woman admitted, taking hold of his hand. The doctor clered his throat as if he had been ignored for the majority time he had been in the room.
"The good news is, he will survive." both girls looked up at the doctor with cheerful expressions.
"But, he will not remember certain events or people in his life. It is undetermined how much he will forgot in what time periods." the doctor finished. Alice' mother's face paled as she couldn't take it anymore before fainting.
Alive looked down at her younger brother with fear filled eyes. Her body shook as sobs escaped her lips. She pressed her forehead against yours and cried while hugging your unmoving figure.
"I'm sorry (M/N). Please wake up..."
