It felt like my heart was going to beat right out of my chest. My legs were burning and my breath was ragged.

"You can run, but you can't hide," the man chasing me yelled.

Of course he said the well known catch phrase. If he doesn't catch up to me I won't have to worry about hiding because my brother will be there to kick his butt.

Hi there! I'm Mia Johnson and I'm part of my brothers gang. Im sixteen and still training so I'm not great at fighting bulk drug dealers, yet. I'm currently running for my life and wondering where the heck my brother is.

I turned around the corner into an alleyway behind an old abandoned house. My brother shoved me behind him and into his best friend's arms. His friend smirked down at me.

"You made it out alive. That's surprising, rookie."

"Same goes for you too, rookie," I smirked back at him. They had been on another mission while I was working on mine.

"Would you both please be quiet," my brother, Blake, seethed. He glared at us and I mouthed sorry to him.

"I've got you now," the guy that was chasing me said. He came around the corner and Blake clothes lined him. The guy fell to the ground and grunted.

"Don't you or your gang ever mess with my sister."

The guy chuckled. "We'll do what we want, hot rod." Blake gritted his teeth. His hands curled into a fist.

"Get her out of here," Blake said calmly. His friend, Josh, tried pulling me back but I fought him.

"Now," Blake shouted. I stopped struggling and Josh led me away. I turned back once and saw a pool of blood by the mans body. A knife was sticking out of his chest. I started shaking and I walked faster to our apartment. Blake, Josh, and I live there. It's only until they fix the gang house. There was a fire and it burned the whole right side.

"Are you cold?" Josh wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer to him. Josh was like a brother to me so I didn't mind.

I couldn't tell him the truth so I just nodded. I was actually quite warm so his body heat wasn't helping.

We climbed up the stairs to our apartment and I rushed upstairs as soon as he unlocked the door. I was still shaking. I needed to calm down so I listened to some calming music.

"Classical, huh?" A voice asked behind me. I turned around quickly to find a guy my age looking at me intently. He had piercing blue eyes and black hair. He has at least a six pack, if not more. He was extremely handsome and it was hard to not just stare at him.

"It helps me calm down. Who are you and what do you want?"

"I think it's obvious that I want you and you can call me Lucas."

"Yeah ok Luca, I'm not just free to give away. Little kids want ice cream, do they get what they want, no. Unless they're spoiled brats. So you might want me but that doesn't mean you can have me."

He chuckled and his eyes shone with amusement. "Feisty, I like it. I'm not a little kid and unless you can take me down then I guess I get what I want."

"I can't but my-"

"Your brother took a detour and the guy downstairs is knocked out. It's just you and me, babe." I stepped closer to him and stuck my arms out.

"Alright, just take me. There's no way I'll be able to fight you." When he grabbed my arm I pushed him back a little then kicked him in the stomach.

"I have to admit, that was good." Lucas said as he laid on the floor. "But that's only the beginning, sweetheart." He stood up and threw a punch my way which I dodged. He mumbled something under his breath then he tried punch my face again. I ducked but then he punch my side with his other fist. I stabilized myself on the wall as he threw another punch at me, hitting me in the arm instead of the face.

"You're good. Too bad there's two of me," he yelled something and another guy ran up to my room. He was bulk and there was no way I was going to be able to take him down. He also looked about my age, maybe a little older.

"So you're stronger than we thought you were. Or maybe it's just because Lucas didn't want to hurt you." I rolled my eyes then got in a fighting position.

"You don't stand a chance," Lucas said as he stood in between the bulk guy and me.

"He's right. So you can either come with us unharmed or with a few bruises and cuts." I was tempted to just let them take me, but what's the fun in that? They couldn't hurt me too bad, right?

"Now what's the fun in that?" I said. The guy chuckled but Lucas looked worried. The guy also got in a fighting position. He threw the first punch that I dodged. I then punched him in the jaw. He groaned then tackled me to the floor.

"You're pretty good, rookie. But not strong enough to beat me." He grabbed my wrists and pulled me up. Lucas got a rope from his pocket, handed it to the guy, and the guy tied my hands together. Yay, I'm going to die.

"So where we going?" I asked in a casual voice as the guy, I now know as Jason, carried me, over his shoulder, down the stairs. Jason chuckled beneath me and I rolled my eyes.

"We are taking you captive and you act like it's normal for you." It wasn't normal for me but I have been captive before. Being in a gang isn't the safest thing. Especially if it has ran in the family for years. Blake, Josh, and I are the leaders of the gang so I have a huge target on my back.

"Yeah well, what can I do about it?" He, again, chuckled.

"We are going to a gang house in the woods."

"Fun," I breathed as he put me in his van. He got in the front and started driving manically. Even Lucas was holding on for his life.

Yeah, I'm so going to die.
