Chapter 3: Vanished

"I want better for him" I said staring blankly at the stars "for who?" Grey asked me clearly confused by who 'him' was "Jeydon" I got off the bench and walked to the grassy field and laid down "is that the guy I saw storm out of your house" I shrugged still looking intently at the balls of gas

"he's right though, my grades arent terrible and I could go to college not anything like Cambridge though, but on the other hand Jeydon hardly even goes to school and when be does he ends up ditching anyway, I remember a conversation we had at our year 5 graduation"

📹FLASHBACK📹

Jeydon and I met up after the main ceremony and he led me out to the back playground where we sat on the double slide and talked about how secondary school was going to be "Bry you're not going to ditch me right?" I laughed until my stomach hurt "Jey do you honestly think anyone but you could put up with me" Jeydon seemed off like he was worried about something and that's when I got serious "Jeydon Eli Dissick when be stuck together since we were born, I honestly think they mixed me and Clyde up, and no one will ever take your place, I love you Jey"

"I love you too Bry" Jeydon still seemed off "was that all that was bugging you" he shrugged and put a fake grin in his face but it fell 'I just want to make something of myself, I'm very grateful for everything my dad has done for me and Clyde but I don't want to be like him, I want to be the good guy" I didn't say anything because I didn't know he felt that way so we sat akwardly and ate our cookies and drank our juice on the slides in the back playground.

Jeydon and I finished secondary school but I saw less and less of him through those years and then he just stopped coming to school and then my sister moved away with her junkie boyfriend Axel and then they started selling dope and because Jeydon's dad was a big deal in the dope selling community Jey kept tabs on her for me and then towards the end of year 10 Jeydon was nowhere to be found, he disappeared, vanished.

Tonight was the first night I've seen him in almost a year and he acted like it was no big deal, imagine losing your best friend for 16 almost 17 years for a year and he didn't even give me a heads up. I don't care if Jeydon doesn't want anything to do with me, my main mission is to figure out why he was acting so strange these past few years and why he vanished

We went from telling each other everything to telling each other nothing
