The next day, we're back at school. I look forward to my classes and lunch with Dan. We've been spending a lot more time together-I guess we can be considered "dating" now. It helps that he lives right across the hall.

I find myself at their apartment a lot more often. Whether it's to study with Dan or just hang out, it's really fun. Dan's roommate, Tony, is really nice and funny. He likes to joke around a lot, and his laugh is really high-pitched and adorable. Dan and Tony will sometimes get on such a long roll of hilariousness that I can barely contain myself. It makes studying a lot more fun.

When I'm not with Dan, I watch his and Tony's videos. They're really funny and they swear a lot, but I find that strangely attractive. They use a lot of crude humor, and I see a side of Dan that I haven't seen before. I like it.

All my life I've been shy and reserved, but Dan is the opposite. He's funny and outgoing and he swears. I guess that's why I like him so much. I know for a fact that this is what I wanted. I wanted something different, and that's what I'm getting. And I'm enjoying every second of it.

Dan's also a nerd. But, in a good way. I remember one day we were together and Dan said, "Hey, Lily..."

"Yes?"

"You have red hair, green eyes, you're kind of shy, and your name is Lily... you kind of remind me of Lily Pott-"

"Lily Potter, yes, I know," I interrupt.

"I get that a lot. The author based me off her."

"The who did what?" Dan asks.

"What?" I ask. What did I just say?

I thought it was cute, how Dan's a Harry Potter nerd...

Lately, I've found that I'm always smiling.

I really enjoy being with Dan-both him and Tony. They're hilarious, and I love guys who can make me laugh. That's why I feel so strongly towards Dan, I guess.

I don't know why he would want to date me. I'm not attractive, I'm shy, I'm insecure. I'm trying to pull myself away from that image I have of myself-Dan says I'm better than that. I want to believe him, but doubt persists. I question why he likes me, but not dare ask out loud. My questions are answered when one day, after we've been dating for more than a month, he simply asks, "Lily, will you be my girlfriend?"

"Of course," I smile.
