The remaining time at Denny's was spent joking around and learning more about each other. Camila asked Lauren more about soccer, and the green eyed captain even invited her to watch the game that was set in the next couple of days.

When the two finished eating, Lauren paid for the bill despite Camila's wishes. After the endless thank you's, they made it back home where they planned on going their separate ways before finding Kendall waiting on her porch. The tall girl had narrow eyes as she balled up her fists tightly.

"What the hell are you two doing together?" She barked out as Camila shut the car door.

"Babe, not now." Lauren sighed out, "Camila needed a ride home since you didn't give her one. She watched the rest of my practice as she waited then we went to Denny's because I was starving."

"You know Denny's is so fattening, right?" Kendall scoffed out, "I bet Camila would give you something to eat." Her unknown dirty words nearly made Camila and Lauren chuckle out loud.

"You can come over after I shower if you want," Lauren called out to her girlfriend before lowering her voice to talk to her new friend, "I'll see you tomorrow or something Camila."

Camila nodded in response, thanking her one more time for their meal together. Kendall locked her out of the house for a solid five minutes before Sofi came to the rescue, unlocking the door and cheering her sister up just like any other day.

An hour or so has passed until Camila realized the time. It was nearing almost nine o'clock, so she tucked in her little sister to sleep before starting on her homework.

Luckily, PCA was a block-schedule school meaning that everyday she had three different classes. Like Culinary, AP English, and AP French would be one day, then AP Anatomy, AP Calculus, and a study hall period would be the next day. The day after that would repeat the cycle of having the classes every other day. Everything confused her but in the end, she liked it than having the same seven classes every single day.

When she finished up her French homework, Camila was finally able to rest. Kendall was nowhere to be seen and she was thankful for it, until she realized that the endless muffled giggling she's been listening to was her step-sister right next door.

The small girl turned off her bedroom lights and crawled under her window, only to peak her head up to stare at the house parallel to her own.

Through the windows she noticed a laughing Kendall, something that was so rare to her eyes and ears. Next to her sat Lauren on her bed, pulling her girlfriend in for a kiss.

"Sissy-" Sofia came into the room and turned the light back on, scaring the shit out of her older sister. "I had a nightmare."

Camila put her guard down and shut her blinds to take her mind off the couple next door. She patted her bed signalling that Sofi could sleep with her like their usual routine whenever the young six year old was frightened.

After laying down back in the dark, Camila was overwhelmed with her new life. Living in the rich parts of California, befriending the varsity soccer star of town, and her new family as one of rulers of Malibu, her head was just all over the place.

"Mila?" Sofi spoke softly.

"Hm?" Her sister responded.

"What was mommy like?"

Camila's heart nearly broke in half as the innocent words spilled from her baby sister's mouth. Sofi was barely turning 4 before Sinu had passed, which meant the memories of Sinu were very vague and almost non-existent.

"She-She was amazing-" Camila drifted off talking about everything she learned about their mother over the past 17 years of her life. She was thankful to have Sofi help take her mind off bigger problems, and in the end, she promised herself to take care of the little girl through anything and everything.
