Hey my muffins! I'm back! So sorry I haven't updated, I started a new school and its been tough! I've forgotten almost everything that I need for my classes and have been late to a couple classes already! :( But, despite my awful days, that doesn't mean you need to have one too! Here's some words of wisdom from the beloved Walt Disney. R.I.P.

"There is more treasure in books than all the Pirate's Loot on Treasure Island." (Walt Disney)
(I'm literally crying from this rn.)
Enjoy the chapter!

Marinette's POV
Today was Friday. The big day. Me, Maman and Papa were waiting at the airport terminal, waiting for Bridgette's plane to come and land. I took a deep breath and held up my pink sign that said "WELCOME HOME, BRIDGETTE!" in bold letters.
"Flight 239 preparing for landing!" A woman's voice says over the intercom. Maman shrieks with joy and pulls Papa along. I smile gently at their enthusiasm and follow along eagerly.
The plane is just landing on the platform as we go out on the runway track. So many men and women emerge from the train that it seems like an eternity before I see a familiar face.

Bridgette.

She's just like I remembered her. The same smile that could light up the darkest room, the same joyous sapphire blue eyes. She scans the crowd, looking for us in the big cluster of people. I try desperately to make eye contact with her and hold up the sign as high as I can. She finally locks eye contact with the sign, trying to squint and read what it says. She finally seems to understand and looks down to see me holding it.
Her smile instantly widens a thousand times more as she races down to meet us. I grin almost as widely as she does as she does. "MAMAN, PAPA, BLUEBELL!!!!" She screams at us and squeezes us all in a bone crushing hug, even harder than Papa's. I hug back tightly, tears of joy racing down my flushed cheeks. Maman and Papa are just as emotional, maybe even more.
"My darling baby girl, oooo look how much you've grown! You're all grown up now!" Maman gushes.
"Yes, Sapphire, it's so good to see you! I missed you so much!" I squeal, using her nickname with pure joy rushing out of me, unattainable.
Papa smiles proudly. "Ahhh yes, my little pastry! You're a fine young woman, I bet you've had a ton of boys chase after you huh? Well bring em all over and we'll interview them, see if they are suitable form my little flower." He booms, partly joking, partly serious.
Bridgette blushes. "A-actually Papa, I have brought a boy with me." Papa's face turns to stone quickly. "Who is he, let me see him!" Papa bellows.
Bridgette quickly moves to the side to reveal a tall, pale boy reading a book. He has a serious expression on his face, not seeming to care about anything at all, making him dark and mysterious. He also has blonde hair with pale skin and grayish blue eyes.
I squit my eyes at this unfamiliar boy, with uncertainty settling into my stomach. He looks familar sonehow, like I've seen him somewhere before or seen somebody that looks like him. Maman squints the same way I am doing him while Papa is death glaring this rude boy. If look could kill, this boy would be dead on sight.
Bridgette chuckles nervously and and nudges the boy to get his attention. "What?" He says, his eyes fixed on Bridgette, clearly annoyed. My blood boils with anger. How dare he speak to my sister that way! I'm ready to confront him, give him a piece of my mind, when Bridgette sends me a pleading glance.
My eyes soften and I hold myself back for Bridgette's sake. I take a deep breath and plaster on a smile. "Hi there, Mousier! Um, I'm Marinette, Bridgette's twin sister. And this is my family, Maman and Papa." I gesture towards my parents and they both muster a polite nod.
His face stays grim and cold, but he seems shaken by Papa's glare. "Qui Qui, Madam and Mousier Dupin-Cheng." He nods back at Maman and Papa. He turns to me. "Ahhh yes. Mademoiselle Marinette. Bridgette has told me so much about you, I feel like I already know you." My fake smile turns genuine at the mention of my sister. I laugh and Bridgette's face relaxes noticeably.
Maman then speaks with a small smile. "So, Mousier, what is your name? I cannot keep calling you Mousier forever you know!" Papa chuckles lightly.
The boys face shifts slightly into something that seems like it's supposed to be laughter. "Of course! My name is-"
He is cut off by a flight attendant telling us to get off of the runway and inside so that another plane could land. We all hurried off the runway and back into the terminal. All of a sudden something in my head just clicked. Of Course!!! Why didn't I think of it sooner!!

They still needed to pick up their luggage! "Hey, Sapphire, let's go get all of the luggage!" I point to the luggage pick-up line. She grins and follows behind me. The boy stays behind with Maman and Papa while me and Bridgette go for their luggage.
"So Bridge, who's that boy that you've brought back with you?" I ask curiously. She blushes pink and stutters. "W-well he's my c-classmate from s-school. I asked if he had anywhere to go this summer and he said no. S-so I kinda s-sorta invited him to travel w-with me."
Oh, so that's how he ended up here. But why was Bridgette stuttering and blushing so much? He's just a friend right? Unless... No. Way.
A knowing smile spreads across my face and I turn to her. "Do you... Like him?" I wiggle my eyebrows for effect. She blushes harder and giggles. "W-what? No, I d-dont! Stop that!" She tries to deny the truth.
"Come on, you can spill the croissants! Maman and Papa aren't around to hear! I know you like him, your face doesn't lie." I point out the fact that she's the color of cotton candy.
We stop at the luggage return, to look for the bags. She laughs. "Well, I guess you're right. My face does look like that. And yes I like him." She looks away embarrassed. I put an arm on her shoulder. "Hey, its ok to like him. Its not a crime, you don't have to be embarrassed or anything."

She pouts. "I know. It just so confusing! I mean, I like him a lot but I don't know if he likes me! He's really cold and serious towards me sometimes but he's also very sweet and kind when he wants to be!" I open my mouth but no sound comes out. I'm not sure how to address this situation.
"Well, you two should connect more, get to know each other better. I'm sure he's very fond of you, he sees like a distant person." I finally say.
She grins. "That's a great idea Mari! Thank you!" She hugs me gratefully and then spots the bags coming towards us. She picks them up and heads back to our little group. I follow behind her.
"Hey everybody, I've got our luggage so let's go home!" She exclaims.

This was gonna be good.
