Prologue
June's POV
Hi I'm June Gale and this is my story. I am Fifteen years old. I have long light brown hair and Dark Hazel eyes I am what some of you would call a nerd. I have two friends Lindsey and Sara. They are the ones I turn to for advice. I feel like I am a forgetting something...
I am a werewolf. And I still have not found my mate.
I live with my parents, two younger sisters, and my big brother. I am a member of the wolf blood pack. we are one of the strongest packs in the world. My dad is the beta of the pack. I am the outcast, the one no one wants to talk to or look at. My brother and my Best friends are the only ones who want to talk to me.
Today is the day a new alpha will be crowned. The current alpha has two sons so it is up to him to choose which one will be alpha. Everyone thinks it will be Cade who is 18 and the older of the two brothers. But I secretly hope it will be Evan.
You see cade is the biggest player at our school and is a complete jerk. We used to be best friends and were "joined by the hip". But ever since high school rolled around he completely shut me out. I pass by him every day in the halls and he acts like he doesn't even know me. I have this fantasy in my head that someday he will snap out of it and come and squish me in a big hug and then things will go back to normal. I know pathetic right.
But since today someone will become the new alpha, today is the day that I might finally find my mate. And let me tell you when I find him he will scoop me up in his arms and we'll run off out of this hell hole ... I hope.
My thoughts were interrupted by the rough voice of my father.
"June get down here this instant i will not be late because of you!"
"COMING FATHER!" I yelled back.
Oh joy just another day in Hell.

We arrived at the pack house five minutes later.
My father parked the car on the front lawn and went inside while the rest of us went out back.
Me and my Brother went over to where Sara and Lindsey were standing and waited for my father to come out.
Since my father was beta he had to annouce the alpha and his sons. Then the alpha would announce who he chose.
"Hey, June." Lindsey whispered in my ear.
"yeah?" I ask.
"who do you think he's gonna pick?"
"I hope he's gonna pick evan."
"I think he's gonna pick cade."
'knowing our luck he will pick cade'
'Oh nice of you to come out now Kelsey' (a/n: Kelsey is Junes wolf.)
'Hey you can't blame me for wanting to escape for sometime.'
She had a point there.
All the sudden my dad walked out onto the stage. When he introduced the alpha the alpha and his two sons walked out onto the stage.
"Welcome everyone. I am glad you all made it tonight. now enough with the small talk I will now get to the point. Your new alpha will be . . . my oldest son Cade."
the crowd erupted into applause. I sighed. Kelsey was right. I started walking to the pack house when I caught the sweetest sent I have ever smelt. it smelt like pine needles and charcoal.
I followed the trail all the way to the stage I looked into cades eyes and it was as if we were the only ones standing there.
"mate" I whispered and cade immediately erupted into laughter.
"I will never be your mate. not in a million years!" he shouted into my face. "do you really think I would have a mate1 that is fat ugly and weak like you! now get out of my sight before I through you off the stage myself!"
With that I ran of to go back to my house. I heard my brother calling my name but I kept going.
when I got back I got out my duffel bag and packed all of my stuff. I left a letter to the ones I loved and then took off.
I was getting out of here for good this time and I had no intention of coming back anytime soon.
