I don't think I can do this anymore. I was getting nauseous as each second passed by. The roaring of the loud crowd around me didn't help either. Each time a sweaty man stood up to yell or shout, the hairs on my skin raised. The filthy smell of beer and other alcoholic beverages filled the room as well. I honestly hated coming to the lower budget fights but Tristen didn't want to be one of those people who forgot or tried to cover up where he came from. I'd spoken to him countless times about having them change the venue but he wouldn't budge. Trust me, I've tried everything. I wasn't mad that he didn't want to change the setting, I was just beginning to get uncomfortable due to a little secret that I've been keeping for a few weeks now.

Tristen has been so busy with fighting that he hadn't even realized that I've been sneaking around like crazy lately. It feels so weird to sneak around the man I've been dating for about five years now. College had been good to us. More to me, actually. We both indeed graduated, I guess I just ran with my degree and Tristen decided to pick something that he was more passionate about. Fighting was dangerous but when he decided to take it professionally, it did roll in a load of money.

I've allowed so many rumors and gossipy blogs to run with what they saw between Tristen and I. Some of the blogs drag me down as the 'gold-digging' girlfriend. At first, it really hurt. But as time went pass, I honestly stopped caring. Tristen chose the career that he wanted. And I did the same thing. I started releasing the stories I used to write in college on the internet. So many high-end companies and publishers have seen my work and decided to give me a few deals.

So far, I'm going on to my fifth published novel.

It was really weird sharing my stuff with Tristen. I didn't know what he'd think about my writing and if he'd even liked fiction stories. But one night, I caught him trying to hack into my computer. The memory just makes me laugh. It was late and I think he thought I was sleeping. But knowing Tristen, he ratted himself out before I could even tell my suspicions. After having him beg to read my stuff, I allowed him to, and ever since, he's literally been my personal editors.

He won't let me tell his friends that he reads my work, but that's just one secret I'll keep of us. I'm just not sure I can keep my secret away from him any longer.

The cold hand that grasped my thigh made me jump. For a minute I was scared, until I looked up and saw that it was Wes. He and Tristen had grown to be really good friends over the years. Really good weird friends. Wes has this weird thing where he enjoys coming over to our condo and using the restroom while having the door open to continue conversation with Tristen. I don't think they've realized that our generation runs on cell phones.

"A bit jumpy are we, princess?" He nearly had to shout over the loud crowd that continues to yell after each punch was sent between the fighters.

"Welcome, Wes. You look pretty sharp for just any old fight." I gaze down at his attire. He wore a nicely ironed blouse, loose but dressy pants and loafers.

"I have a date tonight," He says, a full on grin stretching against his face. He was filled with foolishness.

I roll my eyes at his statement. "Yeah, and just yesterday you brought some girl to dinner, claiming she was 'the one'." I used my hands to add emphasis.

"Yo, that chick was so fucking stuck up. She wouldn't even show me what kind of panties she was wearing!"

"That sounds more like modesty." I raised my eyebrow, hoping that this kid wanted to start an argument with me about this tonight. Oh yeah, did I mention that we argue a lot about his love life? Wes is such a great guy, but towards women, it seems as if he's purposefully off key. I mean, he's a fool, but at least be a well-groomed fool.
