Aye Aye Aye. Ayyye . is all I heard the crowd saying when that song came on. I guess it was the theme song since the siren sound came on before the song dropped. All the strippers came running to the floor dancing, jiggling and shaking everywhere. I just sat at the table nursing my Bud Light looking around at my co-workers tip the strippers. All I was thinking how did I let Terrance talk me into coming to a place like this. My mama would be so upset with me right now if she knew I was in here on a Friday night.
“Come on man. You can’t be this lame my man. Here here man..Imma do this fah ya cause you my man. Here’s a 20..go on up there and lay it on her my man. I promise she won’t bite.” My co-worker Terrance pressured me. I hated to feel pressure.
I took a shot of the many patrons that sat at our table and another sip of beer. Told myself what the “what the hell”, grab the 20 and went for it. There I stood inches from the stage with a 20 in my hand. Watching some stripper name Blaze dance on the pole and made her way towards me when she spotted me holding money. She came to the edge of the stage just staring at me like I was a piece of meat. I started to sweat a little I didn’t even notice until the drip slid down my nose. For the first time I actually blinked and she was there on all fours, shaking one cheek at a time just like the Trick Daddy song that was playing now, was saying. I placed the 20 in her sparkly G-string and she winked at me and disappeared. Well it seemed like she did.
“Awwwwww yea booy..I think she might want cha my man.”
Terrance and my other two co-workers came from behind me pushing on me and clowning about how she took the money and how I was in love with the booty.
“ Yall go on nah. I ain’t in no love.”
After a few more drinks we all went our separate ways. I did enjoy myself I won’t lie.
I came into work that Monday an hour early as usual. I was usually the first one there. Drinking my McDonald’s medium coffee two sugars, one cream, and listening to V101.5. I loved listening to Tom Joyner in the morning and getting my old school jams energy. It was rare I listened to anything people who were around my age listen to. I guess I got it from my mom. If we weren’t listening to gospel in the house it was always some old school.
Besides my morning coffee to start my day, I always based my day on what song that played last on the radio. If it was my jam I knew my day will be excellent. I know it sounds silly, but it was my thing. Today Stevie Wonder’s – Sir Duke played as I exit my car and I knew today was going to be just fine.
I logged into work ready to have a great day.
“Ayyye my man. What’s happeniiiin?!?! Terrance yelled in the hall way as soon as I put my stuff in my locker.
“Aw man chill. It’s too early for you to be this hype.”
“Bruh so you up for the club next weekend or what?”
“I’m not sure dude. I may just take it in and chill.”
“Chill for what? You 25. You single. And you ain’t got no kids. Do you?”
“Nah.”
“Oh ok then..Yea you going bruh. I got cha back. Ok.”
“Alright. Ok. Imma go.”
