Falling in love

(A/N: Was re-reading this and decided to edit it. Hope it's a little better then it was before. Also, might do some more Wonderbat things in the future but I'm not sure when.)

I snuggle under the covers, letting my little head pop up while Dick puts his arm around me. He always loves telling me stories before I fall asleep. Oh, well I hope he loves it because spending this time with him is always nice.

'What story would you like me to tell you tonight, Clara?' he asks, tapping my nose with his finger.

'The first one! The first one! The first one!' I say excited to hear my favourite story. Dick looks at me slightly annoyed. I think he has become a little sick of telling me this story but he puts on a smile and tells it to me anyway. Brother goals, for sure.

'Hope you're comfortable.' I wiggle deeper into my bed and he starts:

'Bruce was investigating the White Portuguese and lucky for him the information he needed was in Lex Luthor's hands. I say lucky because Lex had invited Bruce over to his house, so tonight he was going to wear a different suit, one he normally doesn't wear unless called for.

Leaving the shiny black car behind him and walking up to the house, Bruce was met by flashing lights and needy reporters. Once everyone was gathered to hear what Lex had to say, Bruce looked around the room at an attempt to scope out any familiar faces. No one he cared for or even knew well, but a face from the crowd caught his attention. She was different, and it wasn't just the elegant dress she was wearing that made her stand out. There was something about her that intrigued him and clearly she was interested too as neither one could take their eyes off of each other. She was the first to break the eye contact as she turned back around, all while leaving Bruce wondering who this woman was. His thoughts on the mystery woman were quickly washed away when he recalled what he was doing there in the first place.

With Alfred's help, Bruce manoeuvred himself to the server room and placed the hacking device into Lex's system. Unable to stay with his device, Bruce had to socialise with people. That's something both you and I know Dad isn't really good at doing and will avoid at all costs unless he really has to. What caught Bruce's attention as he walked back was the woman he had linked eyes with before.  He walks towards her but is abruptly stopped by Clark Kent.'

That name instantly makes me stick out my tongue, hating that uncle Clark stopped Dad from going to talk to her. Uncle Clark is always goofy around me, even now. He says it's because he's that type of uncle but I think it's because he misses playing around with Conner and Lara as he use to when they were kids. I'm the youngest in this so-called family, so I don't blame him for doing it. I've even grown to like it but don't tell him that, it'll just get to his head.

'Bruce introduced himself while keeping an eye on the pretty woman. He tactically used his intrigue of her as a way of getting out of Clark's questioning, saying 'Wow, pretty girl. Bad habit. Don't quote me, alright?' But Clark isn't known for backing down easily or at all for that matter, and so he continued his questioning. Lex joined the conversation and luckily they were interrupted before the talk became interesting, as Bruce needed to go back to the server room.

Bruce got to the room only to find that someone reached there before him and had taken his device. He looked around confused until he saw her. She was standing right outside the room looking at him. The moment she calmly walked away, Bruce left the room and began his pursuit of her.  He couldn't stop wondering who she was and what she wanted with the files on the drive. The casual chase came to an end once the woman was about to get into her sports car. The last look they shared said everything and nothing all. He wanted badly to know who she was. He had known a few thieves in his life but no one like her, she wasn't any ordinary woman that's for sure. Dad told me that it was that moment that he knew that Diana was someone special not just because she was beautiful but because she was so brave and bold.'

I smile while listening to his words. This story is short and doesn't have much to it but it was the first night that Mum and Dad met. Even though nothing was really said between them, it was beautiful to know how much they already knew about each other just from the looks they shared. Some might even call it love at first sight and I know for sure Dad is too stubborn to admit it, so he would have said he admired her more than loved her right away. I snuggle into my pillow before dozing off with a smile on my face, clearly still thinking about the story that had just been told.

'Aw, Goodnight Sis,' Dick whispers as he leans in and gives my forehead a kiss.
