Believe in Steven

Shield

We entered the house, to find a lot of strange creatures.
"So my present was a bunch of corrupt gems?" Steven asked.
Oh so that is what they are. I guess there were more gems here than I thought, they just took different shapes and that is why we thought they were extinct.
"What?! No!" Pearl cried, "but we better take them out!"
The gems pulled out there weapons again. Garnet has gloves, Pearl had a spear, and Amethyst had a wip.
"Hey Z, where is your weapon?!" Amethyst asked me.
"I don't think I have one!" I said ashamed.
"That's cool! Just use your awesome damage blocking powers to protect Steven!" Amethyst called.
I nodded standing with Steven, and blocking him anything that came at us, "so your a gem?" I asked him confused.
"Well I'm half gem, my mom was Rose Quartz and my dad is a human, so I'm kind of both." He shrugged.
"So like a hybrid?" I asked. How is that even possible?
"Yeah, I guess." He sighed.
"So where is your weapon?" I asked him, not letting myself get distracted from the enemy.
"Well my mother had a shield, but the gems don't know if I will have it or not." He replied.
"Well, I'd be willing to help you to try and summon it if you want." I said.
"Okay, that sounds great!" He replied.
"Oh watch out!" I said trying to get by him, but the monster spat acid on him first.
"Ow!" He cried out loudly.
"Hold on, I got it." I replied pressing my glowing gem on his arm, he watched in amazement, as the pain slowly melted away.
"That is amazing!" Steven cried. "You can heal too?
"Yeah." I shrugged.
The gems came over, because it seems they had killed all the monsters.
"Are you okay?" Pearl asked grabbing Steven.
"I'm fine!" Steven said casually before his eyes turned into stars. "Zircon gone was great!"
"I knew you could handle it Z!" Amethyst said bumping me slightly.
"Thanks," I said blushing why?
Then Amethyst turned to the others, "did you guys notice those things didn't have gems?!"
"What?!" Pearl screeched.
"That means there is a mother, spawning them all in!" Garnet growled. "We will have to take it out!"
"Steven should probably go out of the temple for a bit, so he can be safe." Pearl said.
"Wait, you guys said you had a surprise for me, didn't you?" Steven asked.
"Oh yeah, well we heard your favorite ice cream was going out of business..." Pearl began.
"So we went out and stole a bunch!" Amethyst cried excitedly. I chuckled, and she smiled at me, making me blush and turn away.
"I went back and payed for them!" Pearl snapped.
"Thanks guys!" Steven cried pulling one from the fridge.
"Cookie cat he's a pack for your tummy! Cookie cat he is super duper yummy! Cookie cat he left his family behind! Cookie cat!" Steven screamed.
Then he took a large bite from the cookie cat ice cream and his gem began to glow.
"Steven your shield!" I cried when his shield appeared.
"Wow!" He cried out, "I did it!" He jumped and his shield went all over the place. I stood in front of Amethyst my gem glowing, waiting for the shield to hit something, and it finally smashed into the TV.
"Aww man." Steven sighed.
"Well Steven if it came once it will come back." Pearl said.
"Your right!" Steven cried grabbing a bunch of cookie cats from the fridge. Before racing out of the house.
"Wait? Does he think cookie cats are the thing that summons his shield?" Amethyst asked, before bursting out in laughter.
"Yes I believe so." Garnet said. "Now that he is gone I believe we should..."
"Come on Z!" Amethyst interrupted. "Let me show you the town girl!"
