Amy Hughes stepped off the bus and on to the camp grounds. She smelled the air, it seemed fresh and clean. She smiled softly, this was sure to be fun. When the others got off the bus she turned to face them. Almost smacking into someone. "I'm so sorry!" Amy breathed, her nervous panting made her dizzy. "Woah." A female grabbed her arm, holding her up. "You okay?" When Amy nodded the girl released her hold. The female in front of Amy smiled. "Names Carolina. Everyone calls me Cricket" Cricket bit her lip. "Amy" Amy smiled a bit, glad someone was being nice. Cricket locked eyes with Amy for a second before bounding off. Before she disappeared she looked back "Hey I'll see you later by the fire okay?" Amy nodded and Cricket smiled, satisfied, and ran the rest of the way. Amy followed the path Cricket had just taken but turned a different way once she got to the bend. She looked around, the place was beautiful. She would surely have a nice quiet time here. And hopefully make a few friends. The word friends made her head pound and her heart leap, she'd never been good at making friends. She eventually went back to her room and unpacked. She felt more at home here then anyplace else she'd been. It was weird. "Boo!" Amy jumped suddenly and whipped herself around , her heart racing. Cricket laughed "I totally got you" Amy laughed halfheartedly "Yea you got me" Cricket leaned in a little concerned "I didn't frighten you that bad did I?" Amy shook her head but Cricket looked unconvinced "Hey why don't we go walk around? Just the two of us?" Amy nodded and Cricket smiled, taking Amy's hand and walking outside. "So.. You're not much of a talker are you?" Cricket asked, swinging their intertwined hands. "Well no.. I've had bad experiences when I get to know people" Amy admitted. Cricket once again locked eyes with Amy "Hey.. You don't have to close yourself off here. This is a safe place. We're all friends here. Especially the two of us" Amy's eyes widened "We're friends?" Cricket laughed "Of course we are silly. I wouldn't be talking to you if we weren't" Amy nodded, that was true. "But seriously Amy, don't be shy, you can always talk to any of us." Amy nodded and gripped Cricket's hand a little tighter when they reached the fire. The other counselors were already there. "Hey it's okay. Don't worry" Cricket whispered and sat down next to Amy. The fire was already dying down within minutes of the two getting there. "Hey new girl!" Amy turned her head, not really seeing who was speaking to her. "Can you get some more firewood?" Amy sat there stunned, did he really want her to go into the woods by herself? Cricket leaned in "I'll go with you" Amy nodded and got up, Cricket following her. "Oh Cricket likes the new girl!" Amy's face flushed, but it was too dark for anyone to see. Cricket whipped her head around, her eyes blazing. She said not a word however as she lead Amy into the woods. They looked for wood together at first before separating. When Amy was done she went to look for Cricket. "Cricket?" Someone grabbed her arm and she whipped her head around "You don't belong here! Leave!" Then he was gone. Amy's breath became unsteady and she leaned against a tree. Cricket bounded up to her "Hey there you are. Are you okay?" Amy nodded, catching her breath. Cricket stared at Amy, her eyes landing on her lips. Amy looked Cricket up and down. The two were silent. Cricket suddenly leaned in and pressed her lips to Amy's. Amy's eyes instinctively closed and she kissed back. Cricket pulled away when she felt Amy kiss back. "I-I'm sorry Amy.. I should have controlled myself. I'm so sorry" Cricket dropped her wood and ran. Amy dropped her's and ran after her. "Cricket. Cricket wait!" Amy finally caught up to her and pulled her close, all her shyness gone in that moment. She kissed Cricket passionately before letting go of her arm. Cricket smiled at Amy as Amy's eyes widened and she screamed.
