Riley p.o.v
I held a picture of a young teen girl perfect mix of me, and Lucas, as I had let out a sigh before flipping the photograph over.

" Dear Riley,

I know it been years since a picture of Penelope, but her seventeenth birthday in three weeks, so maybe can be a mother for once in your life.

                        love August, "

I crack a smile at the note that my little brother wrote on the back of the photograph before tuck it into my pocket, and getting on the plane on the way back to Texas. I didn't know I was going home to, what if Lucas got remarried, or worst he married Maya, but I didn't know what would hurt more to see the love of my life with a complete stranger, or with you best friend. I couldn't imagine facing my daughter after all these years, but I need to see her. I knew August was right that terrible because I just left my child for my career. I worked my ass to get the top of the entertainment business in last sixteen years, but not one daughter because I want to forget about everything from my past. I still remember the gold flakes in green that make her eyes look hazel in the night. I lay back trying to get rest before landed in Texas.

(flashback)

I was standing in the pouring rain giving up my family for my selfish dreams. My phone keep going off, but I turn it off and throw it into the trash along with my past before getting onto the bus that night. In my head, I was making thousands of excuse of why this was what best for my family while I continue to cry my eyes out. I keep thinking what kind of mother would leave her child without so much as a goodbye, better yet her husband, I was a terrible person, and I worst mother. I couldn't stay in Texas for one second because it was so small that it was suffocating me. I knew this was crazy because all had was tickle and a dream. " Riley?" I heard someone call my name as I turn around right before my purse fall to the ground, and Penelope's stuffed elephant fall out purse. " fuck!" I cursed myself under breaths as someone starts to help me pick the contain of her purse that fall to the ground. " I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, Riley. " Charlie starts to apologize, but I shook my head to stopped him. " you don't have to apologize to me. I'm just a little bit jumpy right now because this first time away from my husband and Penelope, and I know that silly but it just I miss them so much." I said before sitting back down in my seat as Charlie took the seat next to mine.

" Attention passengers we will be land in Austin Texas shortly, belt up your seatbelt in prepare for landing. " flight attendant announce through the plane intercom as I sigh before ran my hand through my brown hair. " home sweet home," I said before take a deep breath because when I get off the plane nothing will be the same after today.
