Tired eyes scanned over the dimly lit room as seven pairs of legs slowly walked across the old wooden floor, skilfully missing out any boards that would give away their presence. They had one target, one person that could easily get away causing them to fail their mission, no mistakes could be made at any point. As the seven well trained boys turned round a darkened corner, each facing in a different direction covering the others, the person they came for began to take shape out of the darkness.

The tall, sandy blonde haired boy made a signal to his team to approach with caution. There was no way the target would be given up easily, he had a feeling they were waiting for them to make a move. Six boys stood at alert around the simple metal chair their target was strapped to, guns at the ready, as the dark haired boy with the beard began to untie the knots and carefully place the person on his back in a position so he could run quick with out the person falling.

As soon as the dark haired boy stood up straight, gun shots fired at the seven boys from all angles. Another blonde shot up at the exposed light bulb causing the glass to smash and the room plunged into darkness. Being the skilled men they were the seven boys managed to take out most of the unknown shooters unharmed, night vision goggles providing a clear path in the darkness with a quiet voice in their ears leading them back to the army truck they arrived in.

The tall blonde was the last to run out of the abandoned warehouse, and he quickly pulled the pin from one of many hand grenades that were strapped to his belt, not wanting to take any risks of being followed, and threw it behind him. As he jumped onto the back of the moving truck he pulled the door shut and locked it from the inside.

All eight boys kept silent as the truck drove towards the familiar building they called home, their mission was not yet complete until their boss said so, even though they knew they had done well, the tension surrounding them was thick and all eyes were focused on the sleeping body on the truck floor at their feet. They had no idea why this person was needed, they didn't ask questions. They completed missions and took the money they were given and went on with life, they were easily replaced, their awareness of the meaning behind missions was never needed.

Until now.

A/N: hi! This is an AU sidemen/miniminter fic, which is hopefully a little different to others on here. This is just a little snippet to sort of get an idea of what this is going to be like, the next couple chapters will have a bit more explanation. Hopefully I will be able to update regularly, hope you enjoyed! (The media is from Josh's Illuminate trailer, I think I want this book to have that sort of weird vibe if you know what I mean??) Please leave comments and thoughts! ~ Z.
