Author's note: I accidentally put the second half of this chapter as "Chapter 1", so I fixed it! Enjoy :)

"No, there is no way we're leaving him behind!"

"Lea, he can take care of himself, let's go!"

Earlier this evening, I was out minding my own business when suddenly a bunch of men in black appeared and shot bullets my way. Luckily for me, I was pulled back into the alley I had my back turned against and started running for my life. In that moment, it didn't occur to me who had just saved my life; all that mattered was I was now saving my very existence.

"LEA, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU GOING?!" a voice shouted. As I turned towards the sound of a somewhat deep tone, I yelled at the figure to run with me or risk their life. It was without a doubt that he, or even she, sped up their pace to meet mines; this person knew exactly what was going on in the blink of an eye. "Why are they after you?!" they asked with batted breath. When I had been asked this question, all I could do was shrug; even I had no clue why. The anonymous silhouette, that now came into a clear view, appeared as that of a man. He glanced up towards the person running in front of us and did nothing but glare.

"I know what you're thinking" I said, "The person saved my life, okay!" As I said this, another gun shot was fired, causing me to trip over a pile of fruit carts. Hitting the ground, the lad that saved my life earlier jogged back towards me and whispered something in our companion's ear. Both grabbing one arm, they stood me back on my feet and the man that I only seemed to recognize by voice had me running once again.

"Whatever you do, KEEP running. Do NOT look back," he demanded. Although I hated when people pushed me around to do as they asked, I obeyed his order for I had a purpose to do so. Little did I know, accepting this had a price. While jolting between the stands of the flea market, I realized innocent people were getting involved in this madness and knew I had to get out of there as soon as possible, but that wasn't what was bothering me; the guy who saved me went missing. I stopped in my tracks to turn around and take off when I felt a tug on my shoulder, "What are you doing? I told you not to stop!" In the back of my mind, I told him I already knew what he asked me to do, but I couldn't stop myself from worrying about the other guy I had been with before; he saved my life and it was time I did the same for him.

Unfortunately, it was too late; I was entirely cornered. "Why don't you make it easier on yourself and follow us so we don't have to kill you?" Another demand to follow? And this coming from, I'm guessing, a henchman? I wasn't having it.

"And why don't you tell your friend to stop tripping balls before we hurt him too? Not like we ever needed him, but seeing that he tagged along, I guess we'll have to take him in as well," the big, low-pitched man in front of me said. I turned back to see my comrade being held back by more of the men that were chasing after us. When the round chested man came towards me, the boy who I assume to be my friend, yelled out at him not to lay a hand at me, but he was too late; I already knocked the ogre to the floor; thank God for the karate classes I took a while back. After this action took place, putting the other men in awe, I started running again while my male companion fought to protect me.

I suddenly saw flashes of light and heard someone yelling, "SHE'S NOT GOING TO FOLLOW YOU!" Looking straight ahead, I squinted my eyes to see a familiar body shape and as I realized who it was and saw how hurt he'd been, I also took notice to what he said and shot my head back to where I last was, until a man practically dragging his left leg at a quick pace, came after me. In fear, I turned away, sprinting away when an unfamiliar voice shouted for me to 'hit the ground'. From that point on, everything seemed to go by in slow motion; I heard one bang, and witnessed as one build fell and his named slipped through my tongue and heard another three shots as all went pitch black.
