I jolt up in bed, panting, in a cold sweat from the nightmare I just had about being chased by a clown. Dumb, clowns. I look around my room to make sure I actually am alone, but my eyes land on a lump of black fur at the edge of my bed known as Tazz, my cat, who is currently starring at me like he's better than me. Then my eyes land to my alarm clock that reads: ten-thirty am. Well it's time to wake up anyway, I think to myself, then get out of bed. I walk to the bathroom across from my bedroom and shut the door behind me. I examen myself in the mirror. My skin is bronzed from the tanning I've been doing in my backyard all week, which help my hazel eyes to stand out. My long black hair looks like a bird's nest on my head, and I have drool on the side of my face. I'm so beautiful when I wake up in the morning.
I stick my tongue out at the reflection in the mirror and brush my teeth. When I'm finished I walk back to my room to get dressed. After picking out a pair of white short shorts, with a brown, woven belt and a turquoise, flowy tanktop that showed about just an inch of my stomach. Not bad. Now if only my body was proportionate. My butt is really round from all the running I do and all the running I do also causes my boobs to shrink, since I'm losing weight. Yay. As I'm absorbed in my thoughts, my alarm starts to ring. A little late buddy. I quickly tie my hair up into a messy bun, then head downstairs.
Instead of walking down the stairs, I slide down the banister. I miss the part when I'm supposed to jump off so I tumble and roll on the floor. I stay down with my eyes closed for a few seconds, and when I finally open them I'm met with a pair of eyes identical to mine, staring down at me.
"You're a moron Charlie." says my twin brother Jayden. I notice that he's still in his pj's and that he looks just as disheveled as I did earlier.
"Screw you Jay, as I recall, you broke your arm two years ago, doing what I just did." I say then glare at him.
"Yeah but I did it in a cool way. Plus chicks wrote their numbers all over my cast." he says wiggling his eyebrows.
I roll my eyes, "Okay Mr. Stud."
I get off the floor and fix my clothes. I make my way towards the kitchen and see my parents there. My mom is busy cooking bacon and my step-father, Dave, who came into the picture about two years ago is reading his news paper. He's okay, but sometimes tries to tell me and Jayden what to do. I know I might seem like a brat, but I always tell him where he can shove it. He's not my father and can't replace him.
I walk up to my mom and kiss her on the cheek.
"Good morning fellow house members." I say in a sing-song voice as I sit down.
"Hello Charlotte, did you sleep well?
"I hope so, considering she was breakdancing in her sleep last night." says Jayden rather grumpily.
"It's not my fault I move a lot in my sleep!"
"Can't you two go more than two seconds without arguing?" asks my mom sternly, but it was obvious she was hiding a smile.
After my mom plates our food we all dig in. Dave starts asking us about how we plan to spend our summer. Yesterday was our graduation ceremony, and now school is out for the summer! Just thinking about it makes me want to do a little dance.
When I finish my last sip of coffee I excuse myself and clean my plate.
As I start going up the stairs I here my mom shout,"Oh Charlotte, Dave and I will be going to your Uncle's today so we'll only see you tomorrow, since we'll be coming home late. Don't do anything stupid because I have my ways of knowing!"
"Don't worry Mom, have fun!" I shout back.
As I enter my room, my ringtone "Diva" starts playing. I skip over to my bed and look at the caller ID. I answer the phone with a " 'Sup?"
