I Have A New Friend

My dad grabbed my hand leeding me to the inside of the school. I frowned, I didn't need a holding hand, I wasn't that useles. The smell of old books and men deodrente filling my nose as my dad led me into the school. I sighed and fallowed him into another door. He cleared his throut.

"Um... Miss?...Um hello. This is my daughter Eresa. Um.. were knew here. Uh but she is disabled in her eyes.... or blind." He told what must have been the front desk. I wanted to slap my head. He was acting so stupid, but I held the slapping urge back.

"I guess you can call it that." I heard him say to himself. He continued.

"So.. um... help would be good for her. Could she have some assestence? Or a friend to help her? Or something?" I heard a shuffle and a grunt. 

"Hm? Oh hello, welcome to Pine Bridge Highschool. Ah, this must be Eresa. You called about her earlier. I'm Ms. Frair, I'm the head of the desk so if you need anything just give me a ring a ding!" Ms. Frair's voice was chimey like bells. She sounded really young... too young! 

I felt as my dads hand tightened a bit. He must have been angry. I heard the door open and a person gasping really loudly.

"Oh lord." I heard my dad and the office manager say. I heard the person breath over and over again until minally it stopped and heard a rustle.

"I've come here to assist the young lady through the school. A friend and I are taking turns with her. She'll be safe. Don't worry." The boy said. He had a lowish voice. Almost strong. 

"It's settled then." Ms. Flair said. "Nick your going to watch her first and whoever your with is going to next." I could alsmost see Nick smiling. 

"Great! Um... What's her name?" He said stupidly.

I cleared my throut. "Um I can talk too. I'm Eresa." I said sticking my hand out in the direction his voice was coming from. I bulky hand went into mine. 

"Great. I made sure me and my partner had the same classes with you... But anyway... We better get going or were going to be late for home room." Nick took my arm and dragged me before I could say "bye" to my dad.
