new beginnings

I stood up with a blush on my face.
"Nice to meet you Jeffrey, my name is Anna, well, Annabelle."
"Annabelle. I love that name."
I tried to hide it but I blushed even more and soon my cheeks turned bright red making me look like a tomato.
"Well I guess you two have met each other. Anna, well you know how I went to Massachusetts for the summer to visit my cousins and look who came back!"
I chuckled and looked over at Jeffrey who was cracking the cutest smile I had ever seen. I looked down and then back up at Kiley who then continued to talk.
"Jeffrey has never been to California and wanted to experience it a bit. Making plans for when he goes on tour later in life and I thought since he is my favorite cousin, I would let him come."
"tour? you sing?"
"a little.. she's over exaggerating, I'm not even that good."
"oh shut up Jeffrey you know you're good."
I wanted to ask him to sing me a verse or something but I thought it would be weird to ask since I did just meet him.
"he's shy about it, but he really is good. I promise." Kiley told me.
well that explains it.
"well can we come inside? it's gettin chilly out here"
"sure, come on in."
When they stepped in, Kiley took a big sniff out of the air.
"ah, I missed that smell."
"you're so weird Kiley"
I laughed. Then we both eventually ended up laughing together and looked stupid in front of Jeffrey again. I hadn't even known this boy for an hour, and I already had fallen in love with him. He was just so sweet and genuine and had the cutest smile. Don't even get me started on that curly hair of his.
Hours had passed, basically just Kiley and I filling each other in on the past three months and gossiping when we all started to get really hungry.
"damn, my stomach won't shut up."
"want me to order pizza?"
"that sounds so good, only they don't deliver and I don't wanna go out."
"don't worry Anna I can go get the pizza."
"can I stay too, I'm so tired after today's flight."
"wow, you too Jeffrey? Party poopers! I'll go by myself then, don't fall asleep, I wanna have fun tonight you guys!"
"fine."
"yeah, sure."
"okay I'll be back in 20!" Kiley yelled as she slammed the door behind her.
The first minute after Kiley had left were pretty awkward, I had only known Jeffrey for the past four hours. He didn't talk to me, but kept smiling at his phone so I just sat back and went to scroll through my feed.
After scrolling through the past four hours in five minutes, I looked over and his phone was going wild with Instagram notifications, Twitter notifications, and more than anything, Vine notifications. He must me a fuck boy.. I thought to myself.
"Why is your phone going so wild? Do you talk to that many girls?"
He chuckled and cracked that smile that made my heart warm. I couldn't help but smile too.
"No, it's just I guess you can say I'm "popular" online."
"popular? What do you mean?"
"well you know how Kiley told you I sing?"
"yeah?"
"well I post vines of me singing, and I guess people like them."
"really? can I see one?"
"here's my most recent one."
He showed me a Vine of him singing close by Nick Jonas. He was so good. I was freaking out inside, but I kept myself together.
"wow, you're super talented."
"thank you Anna" he said with a blush on his cheeks.
Just then Kiley burst in the door with three large boxes of pizza.
"DAMN WHO KNEW EVERYBODY IN THE WHOLE FUCKING TOWN WANTS PIZZA AT 11:00 PM" Kiley yelled.
Jeffrey and I started laughing.
"Oh how I've missed you." I told Kiley.
"you don't even know." she said back.
The next morning I woke up to a messy room. Pizza and pillows all over the place. As soon as I woke up Kiley and Jeffrey started getting up as well.
"Morning bestfriend" Kiley told me.
"Morning" I said back.
When I looked over at Jeffrey he was already on his phone, only today he wasn't smiling. He actually looked, sad.
