My stomach was in knots as we drove down the highway. I helplessly rested my head against the cool glass window and watched the bright lights that we were passing. As always my head started filling with bad thoughts on how this could go wrong. More than anything, I wanted to tell my mom to turn back but I knew that if I went back home, I'd never leave. Nevertheless, I had this awful feeling in the pit of my stomach, which apparently showed as my mom looked over at me. "What's wrong, Malia?" She asked as she brushed back some of my dirty blonde hair to the side. She looked concerned but I know she's happy that I'm finally leaving the nest. I simply shrugged her off and put my hoodie over my head. The knots in my stomach got worse when I noticed that we were already in the airport parking lot. This was it, I'll be leaving my home for the summer with my boyfriend. I looked over at my mom for the final goodbye. "Okay, we're here." She said optimisticly. I franticly started fixing my hair and makeup grabbing my luggage which was really just two bags. Then I starred at my mom with nervous half smile. My mother loudly sighs."So..umm. Is Liam coming for you-" I interrupt her.

"I change my mind."

"What?" she said in disbelief.

"I change my mind. I wanna go home." I quickly tell her.

"Malia"- she started.

"Mom! I don't feel good about this. W-What if they don't like me? What if he get bored of me? It'd be better if I stayed at home." I tiredly shouted. I brought my head to rest on my hands . My mom starred at my with dispair but she knew I wasn't the type of girl who went out into the world and actually lived. She started tapping her fingers against the steering wheel as if she was thinking about what to do.

Finally she said, " If you really want to go home, I'll take you but I think you'd regret it." I raised my head and looked at her, she lightly patted my head. "You've spent all your life reading books about these adventures and now it's time you go have one." She was right. I was eighteen years old for crying out loud. I spent my senior year inside with nothing but my books to keep me comfort and now I have the chance of a lifetime to finally experience something.

It was at that moment that I saw my boyfriend walk towards our car, there was no going back now. I got off and began walking towards him. His smile grew bigger which was the reassurance I needed. "You made it!" He said excitedly as he pulled me in for one of his big hugs. I happy to take in his clone as my head rested against his chest. My mom drove up near us and rolled down her window.

"Hey Liam." She said waving at him.

"Hello Sherry." He waved back.

"Please take care of her." She looked at me smiling.

"Oh I promise." He said as he put his arm around me.

"Call me when you get off the plane, Malia." She said. I nodded and we exchanged our goodbyes. As she drove off I took grasp of Liam's hand, he would be my new home.

He looked down at our hands and smiled at me. "I remember when I said goodbye to my mum the first time." I looked up at him. "Really?" He nodded as we started walking in the the airport. " I'll tell you about it on the flight."
