Chapter 2

Nathan

“Yo Bro what’s up?”

I smiled turning around “look who’s back in town!! They finally kick you out of college you slacker“ I joke as I get a better look at my best friend Adam.  He doesn’t look any different than he did when he left for college last August. It was good to see him it has been so long since I have just been able to do stupid shit with him.

“dude I did good last semester all B’s.  I think I might be getting the hang of it” he joked back

“What brings you by our humble abode?” I ask raising my eyebrows slightly

“I was just wondering if you wanted to go to that beach party think now. Didn’t you want to talk to that girl? I told Taylor that we would see her there” Taylor? O why did he have to tell her that. I mean she is an annoying little girl but I don’t like her to know what a player I am.  After all she is like a little sister to me right? No crap she isn’t and has not been since we had our first kiss, I wasn’t prepared for what it would make me feel like.  I thought that she would be the perfect person to practice on because I knew she had never been kissed either so she wouldn’t know if I had been doing it wrong.  God I was such an ass to her to that day telling her that I had better.  Hell I hadn’t had any and she was by far the best kiss I ever had.  God was she ever!!

“Hey” Adam yelled bring me out of my day  dream

“What” I exclaimed “ what is wrong with you today man you are completely out of it.  For the 5th time when do you want to leave for the beach”

I thought about it for a while, what would be the best time so I didn’t have to see Taylor?  “when’s your sister leaving?” I asked “Fuck if I know!!!” he exclaimed “but it better be soon because based on what she was wearing they guys are gonna be all over her” he sighed.  Great just fricking fantastic!!! Guys all over her that just cant happen, I guess my idea of not seeing her is shot to hell.  I will not let other guys near her”

Trying to look disappointed about see Taylor I sighed and said “well go later maybe she will be gone by then” He gives me a questioning glare “what is your problem Dad said you guys had started to work out all of this crap, and by crap I have no idea because neither one of you will tell me why you are so pissed off at the other.”

“because it is between the two of us and no one else so just drop it” I glare at him hoping he get the message.  He has been on my case about it forever.

Shrugging he says “Fine, whatever, don’t tell me but you better get your shit straightened out because my dad seems to think that everything is just fine and were going away for summer vacation with you guys”  Wait!! What!!

I glare at him “what in the hell are you talking about”  “You didn’t know were heading to the beach house with you for the summer. Where leaving tomorrow.”  He looks questionably at me “Nope first time I am hearing about it.  O well I guess we will have fun right” I reply acting as if my whole summer is falling apart, with Tay there I am going to have to keep up my act so she know I don’t like her.

Taylor has always hated me it does not matter what I do she still hates me.  We used to be suck good friends, but it seemed like the more I began to like her as more than a friend the more I kept screwing up.  I knew she doesn’t feel the same way about me so I just try to hide it I cant handle the rejection, plus there is the fact that my best friend is her brother and he would probably kill me.

I am pulled out of my thought with one of Adam’s story about us from a couple years ago. “Totally man it can be just like old time right? We can go tubing and water skiing, o and go to all of the hot clubs on the downtown and pick up chicks like we used too.  Remember when you me and Logan went out to that one bar and Logan was talking to that one “girl” then he found out it was a cross dresser” he finishes his story chuckling

“Haha that was a good night. I don’t think Logan is going to be there this summer though he got accepted to some program in Italy he thinks is a good way to jump start college” I state rolling my eyes. Logan may be my twin but the most opposite people you will ever meet.  I like football and hanging with friends and he likes artsy stuff, but we still get along great no matter what I cant stay mad at the dude.

“O, man really he is just so gullible and does the stupidest things it is fun to watch, it wont be the same without him” he says.  “I know but just think now we wont have him winning about not wanting to go out to clubs, or drink, and wanting to go home” I reply nodding my head to myself. That is a perfect idea I will just never be home that way I will not have to see Taylor.

“I don’t know man my dad said something about having to do all of this shit together for family time before all of us are off at college.  Something about trying to relive the old day or some shit I don’t know.” O great so much for my plan of staying away from Taylor.

“They do know that were are adult now right not some stupid kids who do everything together” I reply “Ya I hear ya I don’t want to do it anymore than you do.  Listen I got to get going you coming to the beach party later or not.  I am going to go meet my sister there, if your coming text me and we can meet up.  Maybe go to a bar after try to pick up some hot chicks?” He asks.  “ya alright I don’t know when I will be there but I will give you a call ok?”

He turns around getting ready to leave but pauses and says “ o by the way we need to keep an eye on Tay from now on I expect you to your going to the same college ok”  “Why” I cannot believe he wants me to do that such a bad idea.  “Because guys are staring to notice and I don’t want her hurt you know the guys that are after her are all players, and you’re the only one I trust enough for this ok man”.  “Fine ya sure I can” I shrug like it is no big deal as he head out the door.
