It's been at least two years since the incident. Samantha doesn't really like talking about it even though her therapist says thats the best way to heal. Her new best friend tells her everything is ok when she had panic attacks, but she knew there was something wrong with her. She knew there was something wrong with everyone. Whenever she walked into gym and she had to sit out, she could see all the stares, all the pitying glances. She was all alone in a world filled with people. And it was all because of her first boyfriend Bryant Roberts.
They got together her second year of high school and Bryant was the most popular guy at school. He was the captain of the football team, he had god like looks, and was amazingly smart. He came up to Sam after the first couple weeks of school and asked her to go to a movie with him. She had no way of knowing that this date would be the beginning if the end of her free life.
After just one date, she could tell something was wrong with him. He was fidgety, his breath smelled like three cases of beer, and he held her hand a little too tightly. One day they went on a double date with her best friend, Caroline, and she could tell something was amiss. When Bryant dragged Sam out of the restaurant and into his truck, her date called the police. There was a crazy car chase that Sam still has nightmares about. When they finally arrested the boy, they found her lying in the backseat, unconscious. Now that it was over, Samantha could finally be the girl she once was...not.There were meetings with the police, vigorous therapy, school transfers, and sleepless nights filled with memories she wish she could forget. There were even days that the memories came back so vivid, she was too frightened to move. Sam was no longer "Samantha Mitchall, best friend to all and coolest girl at school." No... She was now "Samantha Mitchall, the girl who got raped sophomore year. Poor girl." She couldn't find anyone who wouldn't care about her past and just accept her for who she is now. She was all alone. Until the transfer student...
