A chance encounter

The day I saw Him I was ill again. This is a regular occurrence for me, so i thought nothing of it. Nowadays, I wish i had bothered to put on some mascara or brush my long blonde locks. Am I pretty? No. But I'm not ugly either...
I was walking through the hospital doors, anger evident on my face when suddenly i was staring up at the sky, a huge obstacle lying on top of me. When I eventually realized a youngish boy was that obstacle, I felt my cheeks flush a bright scarlet colour.
"I'm so sorry, are you okay? I'm such a klutz, I really did mean anything by it, can I help at all?" The mysterious stranger rambled, though at that point he was still lying on me.
"Um, you can help by getting off me!" I said rudely. Damn, looking back I wonder what was the turning point that made us who we were. I was so rude what did he see in me?
"Sorry. I'm so sorry I will leave you to recover alone seeing how I have already inconvenienced you." He said stiffly and turned around and stalked off. I admit, I stared at his retreating back, hoping he would turn around. He never did. Something fluttered in my chest. Then? I had no idea what it was. Now? I can describe it in detail. It wasn't love but there was yearning there.
Sighing, I picked up my bag and walked home, now in the pouring rain.
I guess i should explain. I don't live with my parents. I have no parents. My Dad and brother died in a car accident when I was 6. My mother then became depressed and committed suicide when I was 8. I live in an institute for unwanted kids. As the eldest I don't have to share a room, so I have the tiny, cramped attic room. I used to dream I was Cinderella and my perfect prince would come and rescue me and take me to a palace. I am still waiting. I climb up the dusty stairs until I reach my room. I then reach under my bed and pull out what I truly yearn for. A bag of fine powder, some rolled up cash and finally, a big black gun sat in the palm of my hand.
