“Do you want a brew?” Julie called from her kitchen as I strolled into the living room. “No thanks,” I answered back. I walked over to the fireplace where all the photos were. I noticed a picture of me, Julie, Ellen and Penny. Penny. The memories from that awful night came back into my head. Why didn’t I save her?! It was 2013 now, it happened in 2009 and I still felt guilty. My eyes welled up with tears thinking about her long, wavy brown hair and her astonishing blue eyes. She was such a happy girl and now she’s gone. Forever.
Julie skipped into the living room, a big grin on her face. Her smile faded when she saw me. “Laura! What’s the matter?!” She asked, pushing me onto the couch. “I was just thinking about Penny, that’s all.” I simply answered, starting to sob. “Awe, come here!” She said, pulling me into her, hugging me tightly. “It’s not your fault Lol, it could have happened to anybody,” Julie muttered into my hair. “I know that… But it happened to Pen, and I could have prevented it from happening, and I didn’t. I just feel worse every day Julie, so much worse.” I cried back.
“Anyway, let’s stop crying and call Ellen then we can have a girly night, eh?” Julie asked. A small smile crept onto my lips. “Sounds like a plan!” Me and Julie got our shoes on and headed out to the shop to get our snacks for the night. As we were doing this, we called Ellen up, asking her if she wanted to stay over. She of course answered yes. Jul and I picked up three tubs of ice-cream –ben and jerry’s cookie dough, chocolate fudge and chunkie munkie- and a few bas of jellies. We also picked up a couple of horror films... I mean, c’mon, what’s a girly night without horror movies?! a few hours later, me and Jul were back home, and Ellen was coming in about thirty minutes.
---thirty minutes later---
There were multiple knocks on the door... It was Ellen's special little knock. "COMIIIING!!" Yelled Julia from the kitchen, running to the door. "ELLEN!" we both shouted, laughing hysterically. Ellen laughed back. "LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!" We all shouted.
