More Than Just Music: EDM

My View on EDM

I believe and seen EDM has the capacity to change your life or set you free from your demons just for those 3 to 7 minutes or if your lucky forever.
 

     For me it sends me in a trance(vote if you get pun). It sends me on a journey and it makes me happy. Just hearing the chill beats of Paul Oakenfold can transport me to another world where people like me forget their problems and rave on.

  I personally believe that those beats that DJs our truly meant for me. For us! I bet that,we fellow ravers, feel that those songs are our life. Like we can relate to them. I know I truly related to Don't You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia. When it came out it was my life. I remember when my dad told me they broke up I broke down into tears. I thought my life was over. Of course I was being dramatic but still. I was/am going through tough shit and they help me cope. I guess they were my drug. My high.

Not only SHM. All of EDM. Most people take Speed, Heroin, and weed or any drug on the market for their high. No need for me. EDM is my high. Ever since I was in my moms womb I was born to EDM.

I have not lived a long time but EDM has made a great impact in my life.

I do understand why EDM isn't for everybody. Some people love the soft instuments. Some people love songing along to the deep lyrics of Ed Sheeran. Some people I know myself just love listening and jamming out to the new twenty-one pilots song. I to have tried to get my friend into the EDM side. But I stopped trying because I have no right to change her interest. I know I would be pissed if someone tried to get me out of my EDM shell. I would end up slapping a bitch! Even if it was my mom!...ok maybe not but you get the picture.

It's wrong to ruin someones happiness if you don't like it. Expect if your doing drugs.

Anyway...

I strongly believe with all my god forbidden heart that when DJs or Producers or whatever you call them have a way of moving us out of our pain or whatever your going through even if it's nothing and you just happen to love EDM. They have a way of moving us that no one can. Sorry Ed Sheeran fans! But its true.

I remember when I discovered a song called Xenogenesis by TheFatRat it moved me. I have no idea why. I was already good that day but that song made me better. It has such a chill beat where you can just relax and bop your head to the beat.

Well thats one little "chapter" to express how I feel about this beautiful gateway to many sub-genres.
