Marcy's POV

"Good afternoon class. Today we will be talking about..." Our teacher, Mrs. Thompson, greeted but I wasn't paying attention. I normally never do. Chemistry was never my favorite class nor was I good at it. Probably because I didn't pay attention... Oh well.

My best friend Adeline sits next to me. I glance over to her to see her texting on her phone. From the look on her face I could tell she was frustrated.

"What's wrong?" I whispered to her. She brings her head up from her phone to look at me. She glances at the teacher who is writing something on the board, then glances back at me.

"It's Jason. He somehow got my new number and won't stop texting me."

My fists clench up. "That bastard." I mutter.

Jason. Where do I begin with Jason? Adeline started dating Jason last year and they broke up over a month ago. Jason was very popular around school and was the school flirt. He would do anything to get a girl in bed. Adeline thought he changed when they started dating but she soon found him cheating on her. She was shocked. I, on the other hand, was not. But ever since she broke up with him he wouldn't leave her alone. I swear to god he's obsessed with her.

"It's fine, Marc. I'll just change my number again." She says putting her phone into her pocket.

"Girls." Mrs. Thompson's voice startles us, making us jump. "Please do not speak when I am speaking. It's rude."

I scoff. "You interupted our conversation. I think that's rude."

Another reason why I'm failing this class. I tend to get sassy with the teacher. Any other teacher I am an absolute sweetheart to but Mrs. Thompson was a different story.

The entire classroom is filled with the sound of students chuckling and Mrs. Thompson gives the class a glare.

"Again with the attitude, Marcy? I WILL send you down to the principles office again. Apologize."

I roll my eyes. "I apologize greatly." I mumble and Mrs. Thompson gives me a satisfied smirk.

"What? No backsass today? I'm impressed." She says as she turns around.

"You forgot to apologize." I say making her stop in her tracks. She spins on her heel to face me.

"Excuse me?"

"I apologized for interupting you speak and now it's your turn to apologize to me for interupting our conversation." I smirk.

"That's it! Go down to the principles office!"

I roll my eyes again and stand up, throwing my bag on my shoulder.

"Gosh you don't need to be so mean. Roll back the attitude." I say in a sassy voice only to recieve another glare from her.

I smirk as I start to walk towards the door but stop at the sound of the an announcement.

"Attention all staff and students. We have an emergency situation. Get to a classroom and lock the doors. There's-" the voice is cut off by the sound of struggle and followed by screams. The whole class gasps as we listen in horror.

What the hell is going on?

That's when I hear screaming down the hall.

"Marcy-" Mrs. Thompson begins but I interupt her.

"Shh."

Another scream was heard but this time it was closer to our classroom.

I turn my head giving the teacher a concerned look and she returns it.

This time, another peircing scream was heard directly outside the door. Something slams against the door, making me jump.

I hear strange growling sounds outside of the door and my eyes widen.

"What the hell?" I exclaim.

By now, everyone is standing up from their desks and their eyes are focused on the door. I turn my head to see everyone's expression of concern on their face. Someone gasps and I whip my head back towards the door. My eyes widen as I see blood seeping through the crack. I take a step back and cover my mouth with my hand.

"Marcy, get back." Mrs. Thompson warns me while grabbing my shoulder. I do what she says and I take multiple steps back.

Mrs. Thompson slowly walks towards the door and stops right before she reaches the pool of blood surrounding the door. She reaches her hand out towards the handle and slowly turns it.

I start to breathe heavily as she slowly opens the door.

I don't think anyone was prepared for what happened next.

A body falls into the classroom and I hear Adeline scream. I gasp and my eyes widen at the sight of the girl.

I observe her closer and a tear falls when I notice who she is.

It's my American Literature teacher, Mrs. Keagan...

She lays in a pool of her own blood. My eyes widen when I see what appears to be...

Bite marks?

Why are there bite marks on her arm...

My eyes wander to her neck and i cover my mouth with my hand again as I see that a big chunk of flesh was taken from her neck.

"Oh my god..." Mrs. Thompson says, her voice trailing.

I notice Mrs. Keagan's hand twitch and I gasp.

"She's still alive!" I shout while pointing at her.

"Mrs. Keagan?" Mrs. Thompson kneels on the ground. "Mrs. Keagan?" She repeats herself.

I rush over towards them and hover over her.

Mrs. Keagan's eyes shoot open. They aren't her normal eyes... What were once her bright green eyes were now a dull grey color.

What the hell...

"Quick! Someone call-" Mrs. Thompson starts but she's interupted by Mrs. Keagan groaning.

The groan didn't sound human though... It sounded so sick and disturbing.

What would happen next would change my life.

With one quick movement, Mrs. Keagan sits up and grabs Mrs. Thompson. She sinks her teeth into Mrs. Thompson's neck and yanks, blood spattering all over me.

The room was chaos. Everyone started running out the door screaming past Mrs. Keagan and Mrs. Thompson while I just stood there with my jaw dropped.

"This can't be happening." I say slowly backing up.

Mrs. Keagan's head shoots up and her dull grey eyes look at me. Blood drips down her mouth as Mrs. Thompson lays there.

Dead.

Mrs. Keagan stands up, never breaking her gaze on me. She eyes me like I'm her prey and begins to limp towards me.

"Marcy!" A voice shouts and Mrs. Keagan whips her head around.

"Adeline, run!" I shout.

But it's too late.

Mrs. Keagan starts to run towards her and Adeline screams.

"No!"

I frantically look around the room. I had to do something... I had to save my best friend from Mrs. Keagan.

Or whatever it is...

I spot a meter stick on a desk and I grab it. I whip around to see Mrs. Keagan tackle Adeline to the ground. I sprint as fast as I can across the room towards my best friend.

Adeline desperately tries to fend Mrs. Keagan off of her as she snaps at Adeline. Blood drips from her mouth and onto Adeline's face.

I finally get to them and I swing the stick at her and knock her off of Adeline.

She rolls on her back but quickly gets back up. She growls and lunges at me and I panic. I stab her with the meter stick in her stomach but she doesn't even flinch.

"What the fuck are you?!" I scream as I yank the meter stick out of her stomach and ram it into her head.

I flinch as blood is spattered on me once again.

Mrs. Keagan finally stops moving. I let go of the meter stick and she falls to the ground, blood spilling out of her head and onto the floor.

I breathe heavily as I stare down at my teacher with a meter stick in her forehead.

That's when I realize what's going on.

"Marcy, y-you killed her." Adeline whispers.

I look up at her to find her standing beside me staring at Mrs. Keagan who lies dead on the floor.

"Or was she already dead?" I ask only to recieve a confused look from Adeline.

We both turn our heads at the sound of multiple peircing screams coming from the halls. I take one last look at my teacher before I kneel down and yank the meters stick out of her head. I cringe at the disturbing sound it made.

I stand back up and turn to Adeline. I gesture towards the door.

"We have to go. Now."
